Royalty Family Tree Part 1
Part one of my EclipsedGuardian AU’s Family trees.
The first alicorn was made by a spell. Though no one knows what she looks like, they know her as Queen Selene. She became the ruler of Equestria and when she had a unicorn son she tried to use it on him and it didn’t work, she had a pegasus daughter and it again didn’t work. She hid it away so no one but the royal family could use it. She then had a unicorn daughter and it worked. She created the law that the royals may only marry unicorns, so that all daughters could become alicorns. Her daughter was Golden Roses. One day Selene vanished and Golden Roses became the next queen.
Golden Roses:
She is the daughter of Queen Selene and mother to Soul Wing and Sombra. Betrothed to Malcolm but due to unfortunate circumstances he only became a donor to her two daughters. A snarky girl who takes ruling very seriously. After being betrayed by her betrothed Malcolm, she never tried to marry again. After the death of her firstborn daughter, Soul Wing. She raised her twin granddaughters after their father Speed Wing ran off. Later killed in the Hybrid War.
Malcolm:
Shamed former betrothed of Golden Roses. He was betrothed to her since he was a purebred unicorn. But even though he cared for her and Equestria his heart belonged to another. The captain of the royal guard, Riverside Light, a unicorn stallion. On his wedding day he refused to marry her and told her everything. He was shunned for who he loved and his betrayal of the future queen. But he was the only purebred unicorn so he was offered the deal to sire two daughters for Golden Roses and he would be able to continue living in Equestria. (He will appear in one of the mane 6 family trees! Can you guess which one?)
Soul Wing:
Deceased mother of Lunar and Solar Eclipse. She was killed by the Changeling prince and Draconoquis queen. Her death started the Hybrid War. She met Speed Wing in Canterlot and fell for him quickly. Her mother wouldn’t betroth either of her daughters but did abide by the unicorn law. Speed Wing was a charming pegasus who was a trick flyer. She later became the queen of the spirit world and gave alicorn’s their longer lifespan but couldn’t give it to her sister Sombra.
Speed Wing:
Runaway father of Lunar and Solar Eclipse. After hearing of his love’s death he ran off. No one but he knows where he went but he returned many years later after his daughters were getting ready to have their own foals. He reunited with Soul Wing’s sister Sombra. The two bonded over the lost sister and Golden Roses after she passed and against a certain daughter of his, the two began a relationship that resulted in their daughter Aurora.
Sombra:
Younger sister of Soul Wing. She helped raise her nieces and became next in line to rule Equestria. Along with that, she never had any time to try and find someone special. Until Speed Wing returned. At first enraged by his return she slowly grew to enjoy his company again. As she helped Soul Wing sneak off to see him. The two formed a bond that resulted in Aurora. After Winter Frost attacked she helped raise her grandniece, Nova to be queen before she died. After her death she was told she would be reincarnated into an evil entity. Most assume the modern day King Sombra but no one aside from Soul Wing knows for sure.
Lunar Eclipse:
Like her younger twin sister, she was born with large alicorn wings and no horn. A sight Equestria had never seen. And though they had the spell cast on them it didn’t take effect until many, many, years later. She created the Nightmare when she turned herself into Nightmare Nova to fight against the bullying and oppression she and her sister faced. She fell in love with the son of the Changeling prince and Draconoquis queen that killed her mother, Markceline. Though it took a while for everyone to trust him, he was a key to ending the Hybrid War when their daughter Midnight was born and the Changeling prince was killed. At first she hated the idea of Sombra and her father together and completely ignored her half sister Aurora. Formerly next in line to be queen.
Solar Eclipse:
Lunar’s younger twin sister and also born with alicorn wings and no horn. She takes a lot after her grandmother in looks but her mother’s kind personality. She is a born singer. When Lunar started training with Sombra to be queen, Solar decided she wanted to perform. But when an old betrothal agreement was found she went in Lunar’s place to marry the Crystal Empire Prince Stellar Storm. She ended up warming his icy heart and married him. Officially ended the Hybrid War when Stellar killed the Draconoquis queen. Ruled the Crystal Empire for a few years. Grandmother of Nova, who is an ancestor of Amore, Celestia, and Luna.
Aurora Star Sparkle:
Daughter of Sombra and Speed Wing. Her parents decided to wait until her was olde enough to decide if she wanted to be an alicorn. So she grew up in Canterlot a unicorn and mainly alone. Until she met her best friend Rainbow Blossom (who will also appear in a mane 6 family tree!) and her friends. After a storm accident that nearly killed Rainbow Blossom, her friend confessed her love to Aurora. While it took Aurora a while to come to terms with it, she and Rainbow Blossom have been inseparable since. She and Lunar begin to have a better relationship after Lunar defended her and Rainbow Blossom against Sombra when Aurora introduced Rainbow as her marefriend and Sombra didn’t like it. Sombra believed that the LGBTQ relationship her father had is why her family was divided and her mother never finding someone else. After a while she comes around.
