I don’t like John K, but I think he was definitely talented.

oh yeah no doubt about that, they utilized the stock production music to the nth degree and it worked in their favor - SpongeBob does the same thing, so clearly there’s some inspiration behind all this

Ren & Stimpy had a great soundtrack though.
I mean Rocko at least has a good heart behind it so that’s probably why - can’t really say the same for R&S
To be honest, he’s not wrong. Not saying there’s a conspiracy, but lot’s of cartoon during different era’s have more or less copied each others styles. It’s all about capitalizing on success
I found Ren & and Stimpy too ugly to actually enjoy it’s good humor.

he’s the one who coined the phrase to initially IIRC describe anything that resembled Disney - including The Iron Giant and most Don Bluth films
