Just a couple points.
I assume that they are Russian nationalists.
Your assumptions about where the downvotes of your images are coming from are incorrect.
As of the time I am writing this, you have 13 downvoters. None of them are on known proxies. Only 1 of them are from Russia. The others are from all over the planet.
Of those downvoters I looked at more closely, all of them are equally downvoting both Russian and Ukraine flagged images. Many of them have made public statements about how much they hate people using Ponys for IRL conflicts and how much they wish people would stop using this site to promote IRL drama.
Perhaps a better solution would be
Use the Feature Suggestions thread for this, not posts on fanart.

I’ll just use “Russia-Ukraine War” or “invasion of Ukraine”
This would be a ‘bulk tag change’ - Please propose these new tags in the Tagging Discussion Forum and get staff approval before doing this.
If people want to hide these images, they can add Ukraine or Russia to their filters.

Setting fire to farts for Russian patriots is a charitable deed, in fact, I approve. But are you sure that it is the Russians who put the minuses, and not just random people who do not want to see politics on this site? ?
Yep. I assume that they usually go for any picture of Ukrainian flags in this site out of hatred of the Westerners who support it, so I assume that they are Russian nationalists.
Perhaps a better solution would be to hide all politics-tagged pics in the default folder, so anons (especially those Russians) will not find them and perhaps browse in peace? Maybe we should tag pro-Ukraine and pro-Russia pics as “Russia-Ukraine War” or “[Russian/2022] invasion of Ukraine” so people can hide their tag more easily. I might also tag them as “pro-Ukraine” or “pro-Russia”.
Since people might object to labelling pro-Ukraine pics as “politics” because it’s a humanitarian crisis for Europe, I’ll just use “Russia-Ukraine War” or “invasion of Ukraine” so artists can hide the pics.

I agree with the commenter below. I am also against the war, but I think that politics has no place in Derpibooru.

It could be ideal, but I don’t think we could stop people from putting up support for Ukraine (or even Russia and the US). However, as I said earlier, it’s better to just tag them specifically and then hide the tags. I’ll start tagging.
BTW, if the US gets invaded, and then its allies put up US colours to support the American defenders, just like with Ukraine, would you also consider that to be “political”?

Поджигать пердаки российским патриотам это богоугодное дело на самом деле, одобряю. Но вы уверенны что ставят минусы именно русские, а не просто случайные люди которые не хотят на этом сайте видеть политику?
