Alrighty-o! First on the list of Family of Origins is Rarity Belle. Aussi/Kiwi fam meet “Minnesota Nice”

Billy Brae is the matriarch of Hondo’s family. She was born and raised in an impoverish state in Brushtralia. She’s never known wealth but that made her a very frugal and resourceful mare. She’s deeply sarcastic and loves a good joke. She’s not a “pretty” mare but she can and will kick your ass if you say that to her face. At an extremely young age she began working full time on an oil rig when she met her husband Kowhai.
Kowhai was born in Equestria but his extended family were all locate in Sealand. Like Billy upbringing, Kowhai’s family was rather poor and at a young age, Kowhai had to work after his father passed away in a work accident. His family weren’t strangers to loss as they lost Kowhai’s sister Rarity, brother Striker and father Hondo only a few years apart. When he was legally allowed, Kowhai left Equestria to work on an oil rig to support his mother. As stated, this is where he met Billy.
Together, Billy and Kowhai had two sons Striker and Hondo. Their marriage was an unstable one with Kowhai allowing his widowed mother to have too much of a say in their relationship. Billy didn’t even get to name her boys. Billy allowed this because she didn’t consider this important at the time. However when the boys turned 6, Billy grew tired of being second best and split with Kowhai. She moved back to Brushstralia and the boys spent their summers with her and the rest of the time with their dad.

While they never remarried, they did reconcile and Billy moved Kowhai into her home when he became terminally ill with lung cancer. She cared for him until the end. Billy lived alone for many years but visited Equestria annually for over a month to be with her sons and grandchildren. She’s now officially living in Ponyville as she’s unable to care for herself. She’s never unhappy as she’s surrounded by loving family.

Striker and Hondo

These two are twins but people usually mistake Striker to be the oldest of the two.
Hondo thrived in Equestria and was quite the athlete in Highschool and college. Mares loved him and he was always treated like a hotshot. Despite this, Hondo was and still is a very calm and humble guy. He’s got a great laugh too. He married his sweetheart Cookie Crumble very young and they had their first daughter Rarity while Hondo finished his degree in athletic rehabilitation.
Striker struggled a bit more. He was always a momma’s boy and when his parents split, he struggled. Striker is a sensitive guy and wasn’t really treated well by his father and grandmother because of that. He was in and out of trouble as a teen and spent a little time in juvenile detention. He never purposely hurt others but he did steal and do some pretty hardcore drugs. He got his girlfriend pregnant a few years after Highschool but the two never became a couple. The birth of his son Morocho was the catalyst that got Striker sober and he hasn’t touch drugs since.

Strawberry Belle was born and raised in Ponyville. She’s always been a meek and quiet mare but really loves her family. She got to meet her granddaughter’s husband Discord before she passed and she really liked him. She loves slapstick humour so Discord purposefully amped up the physical comedy. Strawberry had seen the village of Ponyville grow and wasn’t a fan of Royalty taking over her hometown. She was one of the few ponies against Twilight living in Ponyville…why? Well Twilight would be living in her family’s library. Her elderly mother owned it at the time but unlike her daughter, loved the idea of this sweet little student running things. Rarity introduced Twilight to her family and Strawberry didn’t warm to her but wasn’t unkind.
Overall, Strawberry was a quiet and reserved mare but she enjoyed watching her family grow and being a part of Ponyville life.
Damson [DANM SON as he used to joke] was born in Trottingham and lost his accent after he moved to Ponyville in his preteen years. Damson was a smart man from day one. He had a great mind for business and while the family never lived affluently, they did always have stability and stocks in multiple Ponyville companies. He was a barber and the original owner of the building where Rarity started her clothing brand. Damson LOVED Rarity as she was born with that same business sense but was also still a kind mare. He passed away in his late 50s but his funny patriarch role was passed to Discord. Damson would have liked “ThE GoD oF cHAos” and his dad jokes.

Chiffon Swirl and Cookie Crumble

Cookie is the older sister and the most unapologetically herself. She extremely playful and loves to have a great time. Even now, Cookie loves parties and drinks. She’s always been a bit mischievous too always playing pranks on her family and friends. She married young and absolutely adores her sweet calm stallion Hondo. She used to date Mayor Mare in her teens before the other mare wanted to focus on “politics”. But it was a blessing in disguise because Cookie is happiest now with her beautiful large family.
Chiffon was always the more shy sibling. She was bullied a lot in her teens for her weight. Big sis Cookie put a stop to that nonsense but the damage was done. She was scared to be herself and even with the support of her bff Pear Butter, she felt that no one would ever want her. That was until she met this little string bean in college named Carrot Cake. He was immediately smitten and the two began dating. They married only a year after their first date. Chiffon had worked part time at a bakery called The Corner in her youth and when the old owner Sugarcube Cupcake learned that Chiffon was graduating from school as a pastry chef, offered to sell her the building. She and Carrot renamed the place Sugarcube Corner and immediately received praise for their efforts and baked goods. The two were happy and had intentions to be child free. Their twins put a wrench in that plan and were unplanned but wanted. In spite of their age, they decided to start a family then and eventually had one more child and are fostering another.

Morocho
Momo is Rarity’s cousin on her dad’s side. He’s a Hinny and spent most of his life in the western part of Equestia with his mother’s family. He met his dad Striker when he was 7 years old and built a good relationship with the paternal side of his family. Momo is an extremely sarcastic creature who can make anyone laugh. He gets along well with his lil cousin Sweetie Belle and loves teaching her songs from his mother’s side and just straight goofing around. He taught Sweetie to swear and now she could make a trucker blush at her vocabulary.

Like his father, he did struggle a bit in his teen years mostly because ponies tended to look down on Donkeys but especially mixed children of Donkeys. As an adult, Momo is actually an actor/comedian and all the people who teased him now see him on TV.

Pound Cake “Aero Ace”
Aero is the male twin of Mr. and Mrs. Cake and the most gentle person you’ll ever meet. He mellowed out significantly as he grew up and now he’s a sweet harmless little dude. He’s an acrobatic stallion and works at a circus started by Trixie Lulamoon. His stage name in an inside joke as he identifies as Aro/Ace. He liked it so much that the name just stuck. He’s very elegant as he performs. Aero finds acrobatics to be calming. He lives in Cloudsdale but visits regularly to be with family.

Pumpkin Cake
Most of Pumpkin’s time is spent travel around Equestria talking to historians. She’s an archeologist and loves digging up old artifacts and trying to unite them with their people. She was recently hired by the Saddle Arabian government to find bits of their ancient civilization to display for their people. Pumpkin loves working with people and learning about ancient cultures. She’s married to a Felidae named Mittens and the two live out of a caravan year round.

Citrus Spice Cake “Sourspicy666”
The last and youngest cousin is Citrus Spice. Sourspicy666, as she’s known online, is a gamer and streamer. She’s fairly popular and her audience like to tease her. She’s not actually as dumb as she pretends to be but her audience like her ditzy persona so she keeps it up. Citrus is absolutely a romantic soul and currently has a huge crush on this boy her family is sort of fostering

Sweetie Belle has always been close with her grandma Billy. Before Billy moved to Ponyville, Sweetie used to be pen-pals with the older mare. She loved learning about Billy’s homeland and Billy loved introducing her to music from her own childhood and listening to Sweetie Belle sing and talk about her life. Odd note my grandma irl is related to Banjo Paterson! If you don’t know who that is, he’s attributed as (I believe) the first poet who made the lyrics for “Waltzing Mathilda”
Billy looks a bit torn up as she wrestle with quite a few beasts in her time. She has a surprisingly similar style to AJ which Rarity always found funny. AJ also LOVES Billy and goes to her for advice sometimes now that Granny Smith is gone.

As stated above, Damson was so impressed by Rarity’s intelligence as a kid. He taught her a lot about how to run a business, finances and more. He thought she was a great kid with a real talent. He’d be so proud of her if he was still around.
