My attempt to classify episodes based on how important Twilight Sparkle is in them. Screentime data from dziadek1990.deviantart.com

“Twilight goes back in time to seal Nightmare moon into the moon” - wrong
“using the element of harmony (Because there is only one now, and she’s the wielder of it)” - wrong
“and then goes back further to seal discord in stone.” - wrong
And that’s one, two, three strikes you’re out at the old – ball – game!
That’s he typical Twilicorn hate monger attitude for ya, the reasonable people that don’t like Twilicorn(like yourself) look at them and are like “shut the fuck up man”.
Dude… I don’t like twilightcorn, but unless I have been missing something, you have like seven claims I have not heard anywhere else and have serious doubts about.
That is the understatement of the year right there.
Seriously man, what the everloving fuck are you smoking?
If it helps any, unless something’s been leaked or spoilered that I haven’t seen, I’d say kulekitsune’s comment is in the neighborhood of 90% inaccurate.

Can we please, please PLEASE finally admit that hasbro has no intrest in anything mlp related beyond shilling Princess Twilicorn as the supreme overlord over all existence?
I mean, for god sakes… THEY’VE RETCONNED
EVERY
DAMN
EPISODE
IN
THE
ENTIRE
SERIES.
And Tabitha St. Germaine has already stated that Rarity is going to be completely phased out of the series before S5 comes along!
The show’s gone down the toilet. I try to remember it for the Wide-eyed expression of childhood imagination that it used to be, instead of the money-grubbing, corporate commercial for toys it has turned back into.
…Well, Sisterhooves is really more about Sweetie/Rarity, but the Apples have a large part to play. So I guess that could count as half an episode – meaning half the TI-0 episodes are about them.
Assigning 5 points for every 5-rated episode, 4 points for every 4-rated episode, etc., here’s the average number of points per episode for each season:
season 1 – 2.5 || season 2 – 1.96 || season 3 – 2.23
Amusingly, the “Twilight rating” for season 3 is exactly midway between the ratings for the first two seasons. Granted, season 3 was an anomaly for several reasons, primarily because they had to set up Twilicorn in a half-season; I suspect, once all is said and done, season 4 will wind up between seasons 2 and 3, but only time will tell.
ALL the numbers!
God I love numbers!
Numbers make drama go away!
Yay, dynamicv! Excellent work. This is good solid evidence for the thesis that Twilight has not been getting excessive spotlight.
I plan on doing this again in 8 months when the season is done, to see how the show has evolved in anticipation of Season 5 (assuming their is one)
What I noticed about each season:
Season 1 has the most Twilight overall, because there are many episodes where she is involved with another character’s story.
Season 2 has a ton of episodes where Twilight shows up but is not really that imporant. Mostly due to the change of story style, Twilight doesn’t write the reports each episode and more focusing on side characters and the rest of the mane 6
Season 3 still has less Twilight, but the distribution is different. She is either the focus, or unimportant. Fewer ensemble episodes. Shorter season is less flexible for writers.
@BlackPuma
Thanks for the feedback!
Any that seem wrong?
The “4” rank is a bit peculiar since I only gave it to the second half of two parters. I felt that (with the exception of RoH) the second half of these episodes had less focus on Twilight and more on the resolution of the conflict.
For example, while Twilight was the focus of ACW part 1 (her concern for her brother and suspision of Cadence being the primary conflict), the second half is more about Cadence rescuing Shining Armor, the Main 6 fighting the Changlings, and the wedding itself.
The claim is not that it is, but it is going to be in Season 4.
Seeing this distribution really makes me say that if anything, it might just go back to how it was in Season 1 where she had some small role in every episode, but I even doubt that.
The premiere may be focused on her, but it needs to wrap up some issues from the finale and the premieres have always focused on her in some way.
Although, I’d say that she had more focus in “Return of Harmony part 2” than in “Part 1”.
It can be, some people just refuse to try.
Yes, just with all the drama some put out it’s hard to it.
This post seems to have managed it.
Is it possible for anything to be neutral when it comes to Twilicorn?
The 5 point rating system I used is a bit subjective, so let me know if you agree with the ratings I gave to each episode. I would appreciate the feedback!
Nether, that she’s important but over all not far more so then the others.
