I think the rumor comes from a panel where they asked people who they’d want to have their own song in season 4. The audience was shouting out names like Luna, DJ Pon-3, Derpy, etc, and then they sad that ‘almost all’ of the ones that they had actually heard did get a song. It doesn’t actually confirm anything, but this fandom does so love to fill in blanks for itself.
She’s the background pony they’re trying to sell since they won’t be able to sell Derpy again for a few more years.
Well, since a background pony “comes to life” this season, she was one of the obvious choices. Still not clear IF it’s her though.
This is the only headcanon I have.
