Well it’s no coincidence really, after all Coco is a fascist (somebody who’s passionate about fashion).

Hugo Boss on the other hand was an out and out Nazi… who was a Nazi before Hitler joined the Nazi party.

One other thing, she used to hang with the exiled Romanovs in the 1920s and the British Royal family. She was just a determined mature socialite caught behind enemy lines trying to hang onto her stuff a midst a cataclysmic war.

No, her boyfriend General Walter Schellenberg (a rather effeminate Nazi IMHO) was Chief of SS intelligence, the Sicherheitsdienst.
 
Gen. Schellenberg was sentenced to 6 years in prison for war crimes. Having a Nazi intelligence number is no proof that she was an informer or truly aided their cause. The Nazis tried to get her to aid them in negotiating a separate peace with the west by using her lesbian lover Vera Bate Lombardi as an intermediary with Winston Churchill. (BTW, that woman was also imprisoned and counted as an informer by the Nazis with an intelligence number also). After the war Winston personally intervened on Chanel’s behalf by way of the British ambassador.
 
After the war the Jewish Wertheimers and Chanel came to a mutual accommodation about the ownership of Chanel’s perfume line after the war. In fact the Wertheimers funded her comeback when she was nearly 70 min 1954.

Chanel was pretty evidently a ruthless pragmatist, she went after high society and any high society. Slept with more people then Marilyn Monroe. And anyone about to come down on her as a social parasite should question how a woman was supposed to be independent in the early 20th century very closely
 
And anti-Semitism and Nazi sympathy was NOT uncommon at the time. Lindburgh anyone? Rumor is she was never prosecuted because she could very publicly reveal just how extensive said sympathy really was.
