One more image from my ongoing ponification of FFI
 
I apologize about being so slow with this, but I’m always drawing, erasing and redrawing sprites I’m not quite satisfied with and can’t seem to make up my mind. I get carried away and before I know it I’ve drawn the ever-important character the game code simply refers to as “woman” seven different ways.
 
So here’s the game’s iconic first town. For those of you who do not remember this game’s entire dialogue script, I haven’t changed any of the text and as of now don’t plan to - frankly there is so little of it and it’s so simple it doesn’t really call for changes.
 
Here you can see some townsponies, like a guard demanding stuff from you, the woman who spoke the original “welcome to corneria” line (that particular form of it is not actually in the game, it was made up by 8BT) and the dancer.
 
Can you tell I tried to give the dancer my best approximation of 8-bit sexy boots? Her original human sprite showed some serious leg so it seemed appropriate.
 
Anyway, there’s more kinds of npcs in other towns but Coneria’s are all done. I haven’t yet worked on the shopkeepers, who have large indoor sprites, but they’re coming up.
