I’m sorry PonyPon I didnt mean to lash out and be critical like that to you, I’m so used to dealing with rabid fans of the comics that I forgot to act civil.

My issue with Cook’s Marry Sue is that he can automaticly use the EoH is when it has been shown only the Mane6 can use them in the show (and he’s never had them in his world before), and second that he knew the outcome of using them even before he had the chance to take direct control of them.

I hope this helps, I don’t like being mean to other people even online but what they did to Celestia’s character in these comics just hurts my heart, how Cook portrayed her and the all the animosity from her and Price to the fandom boils my blood.

Well, I’m not meaning to argue anything, just trying to make sense of one it’s issues.

I don’t really care about the comics enough to debate their relevance to the show, contradictions or no.

I’m sorry I don’t understand what you’re arguing with me about? I’m trying to say the comics have already been contradicted by the show, we can argue all night about the difference between balance and homogeneity, but my point is he used the EoH and got what he wanted even though every other source from the show to the movie has said otherwise.

And what I meant by him balancing the dimensions what that they return to their respective distance from each other in the multiverse. And what he did didn’t just make one dimension like the other, they became nearly the exact same.

And like you said he “suck out the evil from the alt sisters somehow”, that’s just great writing on Cook’s part I don’t know evil was something tradeable like carbon credits!

But what he did, suck out the evil from the alt sisters somehow and turning himself evil, is not balancing the dimensions, it made one more like the other.

Balance == Homogenization.

“It’s a different world, so they work differently.”

It being a different world doesn’t explain anything because it was stated before that the Elements of Harmony don’t exist in the “evil”-equestria, so saying they work differently there I feel is a copout, what is there to make them work differently? Interference from that world’s Elements of Harmony? The writing explicitly states they don’t have the EoH in the Evil verse.

“It’s not like he did what he said he would do anyway.”

Except he did, you could see from the last few slides he resigned himself to self sacrifice. When Twilight asked him what he was doing he even said before he blasted the Mane6 that he knew what was going to happen to him.

This comic cannot be canon, its already been contradicted by the show in season 2 episode 2.

It’s a different world, so they work differently.

Is the only explanation I have for that that probably isn’t official.

It’s not like he did what he said he would do anyway.

Can someone explain to me how Cook’s Marry Sue managed to use the Elements of Harmony to turn himself evil? (And no I’m not throwing around the word Marry Sue carelessly, I looked it up on wikipedia and made a checklist of traits to which he matches all 10)

The show’s canon contradicts this by explaining and showing that only the element bearers can use the Elements of Harmony, remember when Twilight slapped Dash’s necklace onto Spike and said he’s the new Rainbow Dash, then when they went to confront discord the whole thing didn’t work. I feel like this contradiction with the show is proof this arc isn’t canon to the show.

And what happened in Equestria girls only supports my claim, when Sunset put on the crown everything totally backfired on her and you could hear screams of pain as she turned into a demon, this shows the elements posses some kind of will of their own kinda like the one ring. It granted her wish but at a huge cost kinda like the Twilight zone’s monkey paw.

And from the comics, Cook’s Marry Sue said right before he took control of the elements that (I should also remind you the elements aren’t native to his world) he was going to balance the two worlds, meaning he intended to make himself evil, using the same logic in Equestria girls shouldn’t he have been blasted like the Sombra we know.

Do Cook and Price even watch the show?
