My research into the matter (ie: going through several pages of chrysalislover comments) shows that chrysalislover, on the occasions he addresses Chrysalis directly, tends to do it to comment on features of the picture that stuck out to him (eg a particularly eye-catching smile and other such things that often get comments), or on goofy things like commenting on cheese, certainly never invited her out anywhere, and at least to me, always seemed to carry a very clear implication that he knows exactly how silly he’s being. Moreover, any time he does something like use the word ‘sexy’ or otherwise comment directly on attractiveness, he does it without acting as though he’s talking to Chrysalis. So he addresses the character, but avoids that ‘creep’ factor.
