I know a lot of you keep asking “ERMAHGERD why this not canon DX<” That’s exactly what you sound like. Haha jk but seriously (not really, I luv you all ;A; ) This is not canon because there are sooooo many possibilities with this kind of scenario and I really wanna leave it open for you guys to make up your own headcanons about Annie’s story and whether or not she even meets her parents or not. I have a ton in my head as well and there are some that I just choose to draw out and share with you guys :) So yeah, not “canon”. Your guy’s stories are just as good as mine

Annie: I can handle them on my own, I ear twitches Apollo? Where’d you go? I can hear you tearing up something!

Annie: sighs to the kids You two are harder to take care of than I thought

Azalea: Hi
 
Annie: squints Azalea? Hi! Come in!
 
Azalea: T-thank you
 
Annie: Where’s Berry and Mint?
 
Azalea: I came without them
 
Annie: Oh, why?
 
Azalea: I just needed to t-talk with you… alone
 
Annie: Alright. We can go to my room

Annie: T? Can you handle the kids?
 
Turquoise: Yep. No worries

Azalea: Thank you. S-so how are things? With th-the kids and all
 
Annie: It’s….. alright I guess.
 
Azalea: ?
 
Annie: I mean, things are good and all, but I really wanna be able to take care of them on my own. Do something by myself for once but… it’s hard… being blind and all… But other than that things are great. And you?
 
Azalea: Hm? O-oh, good. Really good. That Crme de la Crme mare is very helpful. So talented for such young mare
 
Annie: She sure is! Glad things are working out. SO what’d you need to talk to me about?
 
Azalea: I…. I just needed to talk to you about something….
 
Annie: Okaaay… continue
 
Azalea: Y-your blindness.
 
Annie: ?
 
Azalea: I-I think I can help you with it
 
Annie: Ehehe, um… I don’t mean to sound like a downer but, I’ve been blind all my life. Well, partially blind. With the whole colors thing and whatnot and I’ve told you this before right?
 
Azalea: giggles Yes
 
Annie: Okay good. It gets tiresome repeating myself over and over again haha
 
Azalea: I could imagine. Though, your case is very rare
 
Annie: Is it?
 
Azalea: Have you never wondered why you were able to see colors?
 
Annie: Well….. um….. not really. I always assumed it was just really, really bad eyesight. But then I realized that using my magic affected how well I could see so then I guess I just assumed it to be a unicorn magic thing
 
Azalea: You are a student of Princess Twilight, correct? In all your studies have you ever heard of such a case?
 
Annie: Ehhhh….. No actually… I haven’t now that I think about it…. Huh, I-I wonder what made me like this then…
 
Azalea: It….. it was me…..
 
Annie: Wha?
 
Azalea: I gave you the ability t-to see color
 
Annie: How? I don’t understand
 
Azalea: I h-have the power to heal. It’s a really unique ability…….. And I know it sounds crazy but you have to believe me. I-I really can
 
Annie: N-no, I believe you. Princess Twilight has told me about such unicorns. I just didn’t know there were still some around……… but, if that’s the case……. then why am I still blind?
 
Azalea: Because…. I was weak. I wasn’t able to completely able to heal you
 
Annie: Oh, your health problems! I remember Princess Twilight said that healing requires a ridiculous amount of magic and skill and can really drain the user. I guess the health issues got in the way of you using your magic somehow? What kind of sickness was it? I thought unicorns could use magic regardless of being sick…..
 
Azalea: …. the health problems weren’t actually physical health problems, s-so to speak. They were just magic problems. Before you were born, Berry had broken his leg really bad while in the fields. I probably would have just taken him to the doctor and let him rest but, we didn’t have the money and working in the fields was his job. He needed his leg so I had no other choice but to try and fix it. I’d never tried healing anything more than a small cut before so you can probably imagine how much that drained me.
 
Annie: Oh, wow…
 
Azalea: I never received the proper training on how to use my magic, so after foolishly attempting to use my powers, my magic was never the same again
 
Annie: And, then you tried to heal me…. and it just got worse…
 
Azalea: sighs Yup. I became so weak… So neither Berry or I could take care of you
 
Annie: …………
 
Azalea: But I’m healthy now! A-and I think I can fix your eyesight!
 
Annie: I……………. Did you tell Berry Vine about this?
 
Azalea: No… he wouldn’t have let me if I’d told him. N-not that he doesn’t care about you or anything! It’s just, he’s afraid that I might hurt myself again. But Annie, I still feel so awful for what I did to you! I just want to make things right!
 
Annie: I-I dunno……
 
Azalea: ……. Please, Anthea. Just think about it! You’ll be able to be so independent and you’ll be able to see your beautiful children and the rest of your friends and your mom………. F-Fluttershy
 
Annie: I….. No… It’s okay, Azalea
 
Azalea: W-wha?
 
Annie: It’s not that I don’t wanna see I just… Blindness is such a permanent disability. There’s no telling what curing me could do to you…
 
Azalea: But, I owe you this at least…
 
Annie: You don’t owe me anything. Really. You need to be healthy. For Berry and Mint smiles
 
Azalea: I… hm….
 
Annie: Hey, it’s alright. I’ve gotten this far with my disability. It’s just making me stronger. Thank you so, so much for the offer.
 
Azalea: But you were just saying how much you wanted to be independent…..
 
Annie: I… I guess I did didn’t I? giggles Well, I guess I’m realizing now that I am pretty independent… but some jobs aren’t always meant to be done alone. I’ve got a lot of friends who can help me when I need it
 
Azalea: ……. You’re such a wise pony, Anthea. Where in Equestria do you get it from? Certainly not me or Berry chuckles
 
Annie: I guess some wisdom rubs off on you when raised by the Elements of Harmony
 
Azalea: I wouldn’t doubt it. Well, I guess I’ll be going then…
 
Annie: Oh, you don’t have to leave yet
 
Azalea: I-I don’t want to intrude…
 
Annie: You won’t be intruding. I think T and I could use some parenting advice
 
Azalea: ……………. Y-you’re asking me about parenting advice? I-I’m not sure that’s one of your best ideas, Anthea. You’d be better off asking your mother or Turquoise’s mother.
 
Annie: Well, I mean sure you might’ve had a rough start, but it seems like you did a great job with Mint. Mom and Mrs. Rarity have been giving us a whole lot of tips but we’d be grateful for any advice we can get. Besides, I think Apollo really took a liking to you last time you visited
 
Azalea: Really? Well… I suppose I could stay for a little while
 
Annie: Great! But before we go down there, let me just warn you that they are part dragon. So, watch out for teeth and claws
 
Azalea: nervous laughter Will do
 

 
Headcanon’s EVERYWHERE!!!!!!! I’ve been trying to find a way to justfiy Annie’s blindness somehow and the fact that unicorns are (apparently) often associated with healing kinda inspired this. This drawing/dialogue was just kinda a brain dump of the idea I had for it. Not sure how much I like it but whatevers. Enjoi!
