Well that didn’t sound sinister at all…
Whenever I see “Lali Ho,” my thoughts immediately go to the dwarves from the Final Fantasy series.
Doesn’t mean nopony told her about Starlight, Twilight (and maybe Rarity) could even have showed her, and it doesn’t mean Starlight Glimmer couldn’t find her, and the first time around I thought it had gone on too long to be a dream sequence, so I was half-expecting her to show up. Needless to say, the thought of her being alone with Apple Bloom was… Unsettling, to say the least.

IF that was the case then I’d question why go so far in the lion’s den, when there’s probably an APB and a wanted poster spread all through Equestria. Maybe if this some other filly from another outskirt of Equestria or even off the border.
Yes, at first I thought that this was Starlight using some kind of spell to infiltrate the dreams of impressionable young ponies (like the CMC) to spread her ideology, and that in the end Luna was going to come in and fight it off. It would’ve been a nice connection to the season premier.
Still, even if it wasn’t, this episode was pretty good.
buuuuuuuut Starlight Glimmer escaped at the end of her episode, and of course there’s that one phrase from her “our town” song about never having nightmares if you never dream.
It wouldn’t have really made all that much sense; Apple Bloom’s never encountered Starlight Glimmer.

I was seriously wondering. It would have fit, thematically.
Oh, yeah. Kind of a shame, really. I would’ve loved to see how she would parody the reveal that it was the creepy gas station attendant behind everything the whole time (especially since there were some moments like (paraphrased), “Maybe that creepy gas station attendant has something to do with it? Nah, never mind.”).
Same. It was the first thing to come to mind when it showed up. The offer to remove the cutie marks helped.
I kinda thought it would be Discord myself, but it made sense since Apple Bloom was dreaming

Yeah, but I forgot the exchange between him and his Shadow in the Hiimdaisy parody comic.
Nah. Apple Bloom’s more like Narukami, as their Shadows were pretty much the same thing.
Not to mention that she accepted it once she learned what it was.
