That’s true. I honestly think Diamond would look up to Rarity, since she is:  
Friends with a princess  
National Hero  
A Fashionista  
Great with gems and such
 
I don’t see it often enough in fanfiction. I might need to dig around, but yeah. Hopefully it will play a part in Diamond’s upcoming episode. {I do believe the staff mentioned something about deepening her character this season.}

I would pay for a Rarity Tiara episode. All the monies. These two would make for a great growth episode. For both, as it can show Rarity the importance of how others view her and the indirect affect she can have on others.
 
We all meet some people who just share more interests and knowledge in fields that we can share more with than others we might be closer with like family or even our closest friends. I see Rarity and Diamond having more to talk about together than Rarity and Sweetie would. But does that make her a bad sister? Not at all.
