OK, so you are a troll trying to act all smug and weening.
That’s good to know so I could stop caring now.
Yes, exactly! Now if only /mlp/ could realize that…
“It’s not bad when I do it” is not the best argument to throw around when you want to claim the moral high ground.
Odd, /mlp/ has no qualms about tossing insults around like confetti, yet they seem to expect that people should listen to them…
And to explain that bump, bull arc was advertised pretty big relatively, another thing from the “star” duo of the comics so to speak.
That large dip shows that quite a few people werent happy.
It’s because the main series is seperate arcs that hardly mean anything to the others (another flaw quality wise). 25 and 26 respectively are the Bull arc, 30 and 31 are Ponyville Days. The deer arc increase like the post says maybe due to the port strikes that ended midway through. But the bad arcs generally have pretty massive dips in sales between them.
I am still sad about FF being so low sales wise consistently. Those get less marketing compared to the main series even though they’re generally better quality wise.
sorry, should say 28% HIGHER than
How can we be sure that the sales are dropping due to quality and not because the previous issue spiked due to marketing?
Sure, issue 25 to 26 is a steep 30% drop, but 25 is 28% than 24 for some unknown reason.
Looking at 24 to 26, the drop is less steep. Could it be that certain issues get more promotion and covers, creating a spike in sales compared to subsequent issues with less marketing?
Or do you insist that a rise in sale numbers indicate that previous issues are better than the norm and that marketing has no influence?
It’s not really a flaw, the purpose of the graph seems to be to show total sales per month instead of per issue, which is why it adds the different series together. It’s also considering compilations with higher prices.
Also I mean obvious downward spikes in sales. Compare the Bull arc and Ponyville Days. Those suffered some pretty steep sales drops between issues.
This is also IDW’s top selling comic, so that honestly doesnt give me a good opinion about the rest.
Remember that the graph is flawed as well. Fiendship was 5 issues, and you also have to factor in comics in the same series released in one month.
Looking at just the main series, there’s a pretty noticiable downward trend over time. Plus the fact that Friends Forever despite being generally better quality wise, always sells lower.
If a drop in sales means it is bad, then a rise must be good then right?
According to that logic, Root of the Problem and Manehattan Mysteries are the only good arcs and Return of Queen Chrysalis is the worst arc in the series.
It would be better to refer to something like this instead of some dumb image full of 4chan drama bait:
You do know the thing to look at is trends right? The bad arcs have notable drops in issues as they to into the 2nd part.
Maybe if you didn’t refer to them as “Morons” they would be more willing to listen to you.
