In short - good version of King Sombra from the mirror universe (in “Reflections” comic arc).

Obligatory reminder that Sombra is really Celestia:
Flash Sentry’s character traits/facts:
-High School Student.
-He plays guitar.
-He has a crush on Twilight.
-He’s a dorky “nice guy” (aka bland and safely marketable in doll sets).
Good Sombra’s character traits/facts:
-Ruler of an entire kingdom for 1000 years, with Luna at his side.
-Doesn’t play a musical instrument.
-A passion for teaching/learning science and magic. Got along well with Starswirl for this reason.
-Mentor figure: Gives some advice to Twilight and was one of Celestia’s mentors along with Starswirl.
-Is in a faithful, long distance relationship with Celestia. Keeps at it for centuries despite only seeing her a few hours per year.
-Has powerful (defensive) magic like Shining Armor.
-Puts the well being of his subjects over his own love for Celestia. Puts Celestia’s life over his own in the end.
-Is capable of wielding the Elements of Harmony (imperfectly) by himself in extreme circumstances, but with terrible consequences (hey, just like Celestia and Nightmare Moon).
