So this is why my writing panel was cancelled…  
Man, if you’re gonna get canceled for something, this is a hell of bump. Now you can tell people you were so awesome and highly sought-after that only Lauren Faust could knock you off the bill.

It’s not like she hates us or anything– she definitely still appreciates that so many people are such dedicated fans of something she made– she’s just long since moved on professionally from anything Pony related. She doesn’t watch the show or follow any of the associated media, but that’s not actually uncommon for creators who leave a franchise gig; writers and artists, for example, quite often can’t keep following a comic book once they’ve left it because it just feels too weird for them.
 
There’s also the fact that she’s got a new animated feature film coming out “soon”, and God Herself comin’ down an’ preachin’ to the choir is sure to be a great way to drum up interest.

I wouldn’t know for sure, but I thought the rumor was that Lauren Faust doesn’t like to talk about MLP stuff now, or feels bummed out when she sees a new episode.
 
Maybe she is there to talk about her new projects? I hope she has a good time at the convention.
