That poor rooster,killed for doing its job. I guess its like how in the cartoons,when people smash their alarm clocks for going off.

The colt used the knife to stealthily killed the rooster that has been cockadoodling doo in every morning, thus allowing him to sleep pass the morning light without being disturbed
(Yes, I know, terrible riddle! I should’ve been less subtle with the question; I got this idea from an original riddle where the man used a gun instead of a knife)

Okay, I’ll give you a clue
He didn’t harm himself, nor did he kill any pony! He went outside to take care of some annoying business that has been waking him up to the sunlight, that’s all! (Did I mention this takes place in a farm in ancient times??)

He murderd Celestia with that knife and then used dark magics to revive Nigthmare Moon who then brought about an eternal nigth. He then went to sleep in her chambers and woke up the next morning.

I don’t even understand the riddle…
Why would getting his knife out do anything to stop him from seeing the light ?
Why never being able to see the light would stop him from waking up ?
And also why would someone not want to wake up to the sun ?
Are the answers to those questions clues to the answer of the riddle ?
