Apologies, I didn’t think before I commented.
They were all going to drown.
Every time in my life I’ve heard ‘tit for tat’ it’s been to justify things that are anything but justice. The deer king is no exception.
This is why I RETURNED that comic!
Trying to destroy a town is not ‘silly!’
I hated that comic so badly!
And instead of a villain sue, this time we got an author’s mouth piece who the narrative will NOT let be proven wrong. He stinks like a mary sue.
I don’t have any problem with the artwork
So are the deer and to quote King Aspen “tit for tat”
I never really thought they were “amazing”, but they were at least a decent read at one point. The artwork is always top notch, though.
Nah, that’s the truth.
BURN!
That would make Celestia a shitty hypocrite.
For me it was good only during and after season 3, because that season was a disappointment.
That would be a great way to end the story: Twilight appeases the deer and the vines go back, but then Celestia drops in, kicks their ass for attacking Canterlot, rips the treaty apart and tell the Minotaurs to tear the place down.
If only….
even if said artifact they unearthed forced a reset of everything back to 0?
more so, Discord was showing regret for some reasons, true, but more so the kinds of reasons why people thought Sunset Shimmer’s apology was fake, seeing how both of their redemptions worked out pretty similarly.
…… deus ex machina is not something that is building up through an entire season.
more so discord was showing signs of regret throughout the episode. more than likely he would have turned on tirek eventually.
with the deer here, the idea of him getting off scott free doesn’t work at all. his deer are not causing daqmage to equestria purposefully, but he is showing an amount of apathy towards it all. will say that he at least is seeing reason, but should still get flak for it… and really should stop it right now.
the situation with the kelpie, howver, i feel is more justified. though they should have made the situation that she was afraid of the ponies to begin with or something. despite that, while she was going to carelessly destroy theri town, she at least was not risking anyone’s lives.
repeat, the king deserves a good boot up his ass.
Oh no you di-in’t. I’ll have you know that I am a decagendered negahuman who only happens to have an equine body.
What’s next? You’re going to assume my nanogender bunfriend is a unicorn because bun has a horn? GTFO, you bigot.
A pony, calling out a deer for doing something wrong? Check your equine privilege, roundhoof.
It didn’t even go over all that well on the show! Tons of us thought Sunset was faking before the second movie and trusting Discord turned out to be an awful idea in-universe that only worked out thanks to the power of deus ex machina.
That’s what happens when you run what amounts to a parody of them.
“Hey, the real series sometimes has the bad guys be nice and forgiven afterwards! I’m sure that will go over well with the readers, no matter who it gets applied to!”
It brings to light a strange trend with the comics. In the actual series and movies, they handle reforming the villains much, much better, despite the method to initiate said reforming usually being a blatant Deus Ex Machina.
