Tara insisted on staying in a penthouse suite in a different hotel?
 
She’s a Hollywood actor, so I wouldn’t put it past her, but it’s also a fact that /mlp/ hates Tara’s guts and will make shit up to slander her. Is there ANY proof at all to this claim?

Brief comment: Ignoring who gets blamed and whether there was malice or incompetence or just bad luck, I will say that, given the way this is worded, it really, really doesn’t sound like the people organizing this con were from within the fandom.
 
Two red flags:
 

The video explanations put out by Everfree Radio tell a slightly different story. They reported most of the con staff disappeared. Military con goers were organized to be the volunteer security. Fans basically kept the con alive that last day.
 
I can understand first year con organizers getting overwhelmed. I might could believe hotel problems. But the VAs have appeared at various conventions before. As far as I know there has been no known problems about their agents. An agent grabbing money from your cash box? And you just let it happen? Really?

What happens in Vegas, spreads drama throughout the fandom.
 
I’m not surprised, and think that while the staff should have known this would happen and had their con somewhere else, I believe them 100% that the hotel fucked them over. Nevada is rife with corruption.

Well gee wilikers, every other Con that has had the shows VA’s sure are lucky, how unfortunate that it was unicon that the Agents all suddenly decide to steal all the money.

I’m not buying the “VA’s agent stole money”. Never happened in more than 10 pony cons, I don’t see why it conveniently comes up now.

This fails to mention the fact that Tara Strong insisted staying at a completely seperate hotel in a penthouse suite, which costs hundreds, maybe thousands more than any of the rooms the other VA’s had. I believe Andrew Francis did this as well.

While a quick look at the hotel they picked shows that it does have a rather seedy reputation, I’m still very skeptical of their excuses.

They admitted that there was blame on them as well.
 
They’re just trying to get everyone it’s not ALL their fault.
 
Everyone’s making it seem that it’s all their fault.
 
This obviously shows that more factors were involved. And they WERE involved. I should know because I roomed with con volunteers during the convention.

And they go on to blame everyone from the VA’s to the Riviera, starting from the very first sentence. Way to be professional, Unicon staff, I’m still no buying it.

Well, their agents. Still, it’s kind of hard to believe that multiple agents would steal directly from their clients.

The Riviera is a really shitty hotel and I would not put it past them to do something like this.
 
When in doubt, all parties are at fault.

Also, the use of the word ‘monies’ is kinda worrisome.
