Still sucks when my obsolete phone makes webm’s look shitty.

I can’t stand people who feel the need to act like such Canon-Nazis when it comes to fanworks; they are as annoying as people who watch sci-fi/super hero/fantasy works and complain if something isn’t “realistic”.

I wish I was here last week when Background Pony #800A posted their disgust towards fans who couldn’t give a crap about the actual show. I know this argument has been resolved but I actually wanted to agree with the original statement.
 
Even though I really love the porn that this fandom produces, at least I still hold a very passionate love for the source material.

There’s something extremely wrong about calling Rarity a bitch, and I’m not only saying this because I love her.

I’m just getting bored with MLP as of lately. Barely any interesting new art I like. I haven’t saw an episode since season 5 and I wouldn’t mind watching it if the DVD’s were actually available in places like Walmart or something similar. No I don’t want to use Netflix or anything else because I rarely watch TV. Freebies aren’t my thing, I’d rather buy it.
 
I waste my time too much with the fandom part. I’m not horse famous for one, not looking to convert. Secondly, I don’t relate and I prefer being reclusive anyways.

That one guy who keeps ranting on about how graphic Sombra’s newest death is needs to put a sock in it. What is it with people in this fandom being keyboard crusaders against things they don’t like?

I think I’ve already wrote this before, but it amuses me when people call Starlight “Poochie”. As far as I know, that character was created as a parody of newly introduced characters so I think people are missing the point of the parody and just slap it onto her. Unlike Mary Sue, which I do understand admittedly as much as I dislike this term altimeter, Poochie is one that I don’t take seriously at all.

Well, hopefully her diminished role, and Sombra enslaving her, so she doesn’t help save the day this time will kinda quell that drama over her a bit.
 
It’s nothing new, fans used to say the same thing about Twilight. Only Sunset seems immune to the backlash of helping saving the day multiple times, but that’s probably ‘cause her apearances are limited to the EqG spinoff series, so fans probablydon’t feel as burnt out on her yet, like with Twilight & Starlight.
 
It’s kinda ironic some fans want Sunset to either take Twilight or Starlight’s place, because if that ever happened, then she would instead get ire from half the fanbase like Twi’ & Star’ have.

Ironically, those who used to feel Twilight “fixes things too much,” now complain she’s useless instead, so either way, half the fans get upset.

I’ve been barely involved in the fandom over the past few years, still haven’t even finished season 8. Just found out season 9 started today (I know) and it’s a weird feeling knowing I’ve missed out on so much of a show that once meant so much to me.
 
Guess I can do its catch up I guess.

What I’ve learned is that if you try to please everybody, you’ll end up pleasing nobody, not even yourself. Best thing is just to keep on trucking and ignore the rabid and unreasonable side.

Cause i’m bored, I thought I’d address your second and third points.
 
I’m not surprised that they said that for Twilight considering her power from all that studying under Celestia and far as I know, she still has that power seasons later. I think that’s because she’s the star of EQG and has had more stories focused on her, I think. I’ve only watched the main films of Equestria Girls so I don’t have too much knowledge.
 
That’s what I’m thinking too cause if she’d be replaced with Sunset, I think the criticisms would be more or less the same alongside some new ones concerning EQG as a whole. Either way and like I said, people will still complain.

Yeah, I remember many for years/seasons wanted Trixie to make more appearances. When she finally did, some started getting sick of her instead, so it’s a lose-lose can’t please everyone situation.
 
Seems like the fewer appearances a character has, the more popular they are, though that only applies to a few characters.  
Already, once beloved cameo bit characters like Screwball or Plaid Stripes are forgotten nowadays.

The fans give them a perception that their underrated and deserve more love. I know I feel that way towards some characters too.

Me too kinda, I guess most fans gravitate to ignored or obscure characters.  
Like Derpy a background/bit character is still one of the most popular MLP characters ever, even rivalling every main character in popularity.  
Though of course even a few fans think she is “overrated,” as she’s made so many cameo appearances over the years, even some fans are getting sick of her.  
(A bit ironic actually, remember in the Season 3/4 days when we all feared she was removed/censored from the show? Hilariously, the production team did that on purpose so her eventual reappearance would be even more sweet.)
