When Celestia tells Twilight about him, does a small flash back scene showing him slaving ponies, and then shows the two Princesses fire a magic beam, and then hits him. If you pause at the right moment when he’s disintegrating, you’ll see his crown fly off, showing that those aren’t side burns, just the crown

Well, in the show when Sombra gets hit by the spell from the sisters, his crown flies off, showing that the “sideburns” is actually just the crown, he doesn’t have flowing sideburns.
