Equestria Girls 3 has two schools compete in a montage of increasingly ridiculous academic and athletic exercises.
 
The spelling bee (cue song: YOU’RE GOING DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN) is an elimination round, the winners of which are Sunset Shimmer Prime (Canterlot High team) and Twilight Sparkle Beta (Crystal Prep team.)
 
So everybody else was shown spelling their words wrong.
 
Rainbow Dash failed hippopotamus. I forget what Applejack failed but it was a math term like isosceles or something.

Also, this scene reminded me of the South Park Movie XD

I always loved this part since I was that nerd that actually knew what the term meant prior to watching the movie. It’s so fitting for her~

So, apparently most of the EQG characters must have WAVY HAIR.
