Except, Balkzardan is the extension of Orochi, an eight-headed dragon whose heads after being cut off became eight individual monsters each one with their own elemental power: Vagnosaurus: poison, Shiigan: lightning, Jyarumu: darkness, Barugaron: fire, Baragon: earth, Manda: water, Varan: air and Balkzardan: light. Celestia would be fighting a primordial creature who has years of combat under her belt. Also, I have heavy doubts that Celestia can even defeat her after seeing her failure to defeat Chrysalis. I don’t care if the former had a power boost, I personally think Celestia fails as a fighter.

Let her sleep for a hundred years to regain her strength, and Celestia takes this handily.
 
You know she had to have been soul-crushingly awesomely badass at one point if she comprised Equestria’s entire defense force and managed to keep armies of griffons, dragons, and eldritch abominations at bay.
