I personally don’t hate him. I just wish his characters were like 10%-15% more solid. Besides my rather mild distaste for how he draws ponies though, I have absolutley nothing against him.
But zomg the anatomy! Won’t somebody please think of the anatomy?!
Joking aside, I think that mod warning was only for one, or two images, (and you’re not allowed to try to admin, the real ones get angry over that regardless of good intentions) but regardless you DO have a point.
It gets old seeing the same comments, smart-remarks, and debate on every single Fosgitt image. I can’t even say I like an image of his without being lectured about how blasphemous it is, or “zomg anatomy!”
Copypasting a directive from a mod to take this hatespam to a forum specifically set up for that purpose– rather than clotting up the regular image pages complaining about how rustled your jimmies are over one artist– is objectively superior to spamming every single image in the artist:jay fosgitt tag with copypasted trashtalk about how much you hate him.
Are you just going to mindlessly copypaste this everywhere your jimmies get rustled?

I like his art. I understand it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, or soundtea (nyuk nyuk) but I think he gets way more hate then he deserves.
I honestly think he makes the ponies look quite adorable. (I mean c’mon, seriously nobody thinks peeking Fluttershy looks cute there? Seriously?)

Story is honestly pretty meh, decent bravery thing at the end.
Daring’s appearence really clashes with how she was in Daring Don’t and the Quibble ep. She’d never go Daring Do in public.
Well, we can’t always get what we want.

Ha. What I took for her belly was, in fact, her “missing” right arm. Time to coffee.
Yeah we get it, we can’t critisize your sacred cow. Also the badness is kinda funny to laugh at at times.
Why did a Starlight comic after all this time have to have Fosgitt as the main artist…

You mean Fluttershy’s left arm? I was always under the impression that we can’t see it because it’s hidden behind her body. That, or her left arm is that notch of color to the right of her right arm that makes it look like her arms are held parallel to each other.
Then again, I’m with Seriff on Fosgitt’s art. There’s a great amount of kinetic energy in most everything he draws be it action or drama, and if we’re going to admit to a love for marshmallow horses, there’s more than enough room for his style here.
Compare with Zahler, who tends to be more constructed with his ponies. The downside there is that, to my recollection, he doesn’t have a great grasp of jaw structure, so I always find his art weird in the same way y’all probably see Fosgitt’s.
TL;DR: fite me irl
I’ll concede, though: he’s better at comedic or slice-of-life stories, not adventure stories. The Daring-Fluttershy comic is more suited for Brenda Hickey or Andy Price.
And they also consistently have silly proportions that have a tendency to change from time to time, this goes for a lot of the stuff he draws. I’m talking less about size and more body proportions to be clear. He tends to either draw base chibis or muppets rejects.
That doesn’t help at all. The henchmen ponies look sorta show proportioned, normal to say.
Daring and Shy seriously look younger than the CMC.
She’s the same size as Fluttershy here.
Then why does Daring look like a toddler?
There’s exaggerating for threatening effect, then there’s not being able into consistent proportions in the slightest.
But they are consistently bigger than Daring/Fluttershy/Cabalaron in all the other scenes too…
No, this is something he’s consistently very poor at. His story telling is fun and his ponies can be cute at times, but I would say he just doesn’t really think about proportions when he draws.
Or it’s the trope of making the mooks bigger than the hero for comedic effect.
