I’m pretty sure that’s why the writers picked Sugar Belle to be with Big Mac, her similarities to Pear Butter would make the wedding more similar to Pear Butter & Bright Mac. Along with that Big Mac himself looks like Bright Mac which ties it together even more (not to mention Little Mac being named Little Mac, wonder if the same happened with him?)

Well, Pear Butter and Bright Mac died some time after Apple Bloom was born. And being the oldest of the Apple children, Big Mac would have known his parents the longest.
Poor guy misses his mom s much.
That’s not too weird, actually. Big Mac may have seen that Sugar Belle had some of the same qualities that Pear Butter had.
