Maybe, the Kylo Ren character could be a pony who was sort of close to Tempest, like a personal servant. After she turns back to her good self, the servant could be shocked and appalled by this (Seeing her succumbing to weakness) and runs off. He/she could then be picked up by Grogar (Or another villain) and put under their command. The servant vows to finish what Storm King and, more importantly, what Tempest started and trains in the same dark power as her (Even willingly breaking her horn to be like Tempest).

Tempest: “So, you have accepted the truth.”
 
Twilight: “I’ve accepted the truth that you were once Fizzlepop Berrytwist, a pony I could have called a friend.”
 
Tempest: “That name no longer has any meaning for me.”
 
Twilight: “It is the name of your true self. You’ve only forgotten. I know there is good in you. The Storm King hasn’t driven it from you fully. That was why you couldn’t crystalize me. That’s why you won’t bring me to your Storm King now. Come with me.”
 
Tempest: “Celestia once thought as you do. You don’t know the power of the dark side! I MUST obey my master.”
 
Twilight: “…Then my friend is truly dead.”

I guess the Kylo Ren character would be someone who was in love with her idolized Evil Tempest and finishes what she started.

Wtf man she looks good in like, fucking everything

Well when you think about it she is almost exactly like Anakin/Vader right down to the scar over their right eye and they both serve an even more evil Master Storm King and Sheev Palpatine/Darth Sidious whom both Vader and Tempest caused to fall to their deaths trying to save someone they cared about. Luke and Twilight and in the end with the exception of Tempest it cost them their own life as well. They even turned to the darkside for almost the same reasons, because of rejection by their peers. Of course Tempest wasn’t also trying to save her husband or wife from dying.
