“Helicopters are aeronoautical witchcraft”
What an ignorant thing to say, considering they work EXACTLY THE SAME WAY as fixed-wing aircraft, i.e. they use airfoils.

In no way is it “really just like our universe.” The sun moves around the planet, not vice versa, and it seems as if the sun and moon are moved with equal effort, implying they’re roughly the same size. Equestria is a curious universe, fantasy rules and physics rules are heavily mixed together.

Apparently just a moon and a star, given from what the show gives us.

Though, other stars do exist.

Which means it’s really just like our universe. Except where this planet is only being kept alive by two powerful, magical beings that move both the moon and the sun.

“Exploring planets and other bodies” is what people really mean when they say “exploring space.” Of course no one is going to spend time and money looking at the black void. Unless you’re researching the properties of dark matter. What do you even find if you exit Equestria’s atmosphere?

why would you explore the void though? that’s just a waste of time and resources

I mean we looked at a lot of things in space from a distance, so if you had the tech why would you not use it to explore those things

look at solar systems or other planets we found that seem interesting. look and study stars and other celstial bodies

space is mostly empty yes, but that doesn’t mean there is nothing to explore :p

Not to mention exploring space is, quite literally, fruitless. You can explore what is in the void, the vacuum, but to explore the vacuum itself is endless and just desolate. I couldn’t imagine floating in space, not knowing my actual direction or orientation, and seeing nothing but endless darkness flooded with light. The planets are far more interesting than the depressing fascination of emptiness that is space itself.

I could only imagine how it would feel. I believe I would feel insignificant and pointless. And indeed, everyone is in the hypothetical eyes of the universe. However, to feel such an emptiness is… somehow liberating.

I’m gonna throw out a comment in hopes of un-derailing the discussion a bit here. Has Shino ever stated what exactly Apogee’s special talent is? Her cutie mark is similar to Delta’s, and the “aeronautical witchcraft” thing implies a similar talent to Jet’s.
