Interesting fact. The US Government actually has a documented plan of action in case something like this happened (it’s listed as the contingency for an alien invasion, though) It states that conventional weaponry would be used first, if that failed, biological and biochemical weapons would be used out of assumption that the attackers would be affected the same as humans and animals. If that didn’t work, black technology would be fielded (untested next generation/experimental weapons systems). And if all of the above failed, they would go for scorched earth. Deployment of the entire US nuclear arsenal resulting in the intentional destruction of the planet…
