At Sweet Apple Acres, The apple family are having breakfast, “Sugar Belle, let me do it for you, you need to relax while you’re pregnant!” Apple Bloom said, “Alright Apple Bloom I will!” Sugar Belle said as she sat on the chair rubbing her belly, “Where’s Granny?” Applejack said, “She is up in her room, lying down for some reason!?” Big Mac said as Applejack walked up the stairs to Granny’s room, where Granny Smith is lying on the bed, “Granny, are you awake?” Applejack said, “I’m super sleepy right now!” Granny Smith said as she slept in the bed, “is Granny okay?” Apple Bloom said as the apple family came into the room, “I don’t know, let’s get the doctor!” Applejack said, “Good idea, I’ll get him!” Grand Pear said.
 
Doctor Horse checks Granny’s body while the apples are outside of her room, “AJ is Granny going to be okay?” Apple Bloom said to her big sister, “I hope so to sis I hope so!” Applejack said as Doctor Horse came out of the room, “How is she Doc?” Big Mac said as he held his wife’s hoof, “Well I check her up, she sleeps alot and she walks slowly the past years but…she…she getting old next week she is going to pass away soon!” Doctor Horse said as the apple family gasped in shocked.

“SHE’S GOING TO PASS AWAY SOON!” Applejack said in shock as Doctor Hose nodded, “Yes It’s almost the matter of days or time until she stops, I hope you company her until her pass away!” Doctor Horse said, “I don’t want Granny to go, we love her!” Apple Bloom said as she wiped a tear from her eyes, “I’m sorry, that’s what old ponies do when they get old and pass away!” Doctor Horse said, At Canterlot Castle, Applejack told Twilight about Granny Smith, “I’m so sorry about this Applejack, I hope Granny Smith is okay!” Twilight said as she hugged Applejack tightly, “That’s okay Twi, hope we will live on without her soon!” Applejack said as a tear ran down her face.
 
Twilight have an idea, how about you create a memoir book about her just like you did for me!” Twilight said, “Good idea Twi, before he passes away we will show her memories about the past years!” Applejack said as she walked out of the throne room. In her room, Applejack found a book and took it to Granny’s room, “Granny I have an idea, how about we show you memories about your past years!?” Applejack said, “Good idea!” Apple Bloom and Big Mac said as Sugar Belle and Grand Pear came in, “Good idea Sugar Cube!” Granny said as AJ opened the book, “Remember the time when you helped me pack my stuff for the trip to the dragon mountains?” AppleJack said as Granny Smith remembered it (Dragonshy).
 
“Good memory about this Sweetheart!” Granny Smith said as she hugged Applejack, “Oh and remember my fake talent too!” Apple Bloom said as Granny remember it too (Cutie Pox)
 
“That’s a good one too Apple Bloom!” Granny Smith said as she hugged her, “Yes what kind of memory!” Fluttershy said as the mane 5 and Spike and Burnt Oak came in as Applejack smiled.

In Granny Smith’s room, “I’m so sorry about your grandmother Applejack darling!” Rarity said as she hugged her friend, “Thanks Rarity, and thank you girls too for coming, “Yay we will help you with anything!” Burnt Oak said, “Yay do you have some new memories from you, dears?” Granny Smith said, “Yay, remember the time that Gilda pranked you with her tail as a rattlesnake?” Pinkie said, “wait she did?” Rainbow Dash said, Granny remembered it (Griffon The Brush Off).
 
“Yay how I couldn’t forget it!” Granny smith as the ponies laugh, “oh remember when Discord’s reign, when you dance!” Applejack as Discord came in, “Oh right I remembered that when I was evil!” Discord said as Granny remembered (The Return of Harmony part 2). “I do remember that!” Granny Smith, “Wait you did that?” Spike said, “Yes I did!” Discord said, “Oh Granny, remember you were the judge at the sisterhood social?” Apple Bloom said, “Granny thought about it!” (SisterHood Social). “Yes I did, that was fun. “Oh yay remember you just like Applejack in the magic duel?” Rainbow said, Granny remembered that, (Magic Duel).
 
“Yes I did, that was getting old!” Granny said, “Oh remember you help me with my mane problem?” Rarity said as Granny remembered it (It Isn’t The Mane Thing About You). “I did remember it!” Granny said, “Yes dear you did!” Mrs. Cake came in with a pie, “I’m so sorry about you passing Granny Smith, I brought you a pie!” Mrs. Cake said as Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo came in, “We’re so sorry Apple Bloom, we wanna help to!” Sweetie Belle said, “Yay me too!” Scootaloo said as Doctor Horse, “I’m here to check on you, how is she feeling?” Doctor Horse said, “She’s doing fine!” Sugar Belle said, “Well you have some 10 minutes until she passes away!” Doctor Horse said as everypony gasped in shock again.

“Okay what other memories?” Applejack said, “Oh remember you’re the couch of buckball!” Rainbow Dash said, Granny remembered it (Buckball Season). “I do remember!” Granny said, “Remember you told me about Applejack how she failed to catch the Great Seedling?” Apple Bloom said as AJ is not amused, Granny thought about it, (Going To Seed). “Yes I do remember that!” Granny Smith said, “Oh remembered when you are the host of Trivial?” Pinkie said, “Oh that’s a good memory!” Fluttershy said as Granny remembered, “Good times!” Granny said, “Oh remember when you tell a story when we tried to find Big Mac?” Sweetie Belle said, “Oh yay I remembered!” Scootaloo said, “Oh no kidding!” Apple Bloom said. “Good Memory sweetheart”! Granny Smith said.
 
“Granny, remember you are at my and Sugar Belle’s wedding?” Big Mac said as Granny remembered it (A Big Mac Question).
 
“Yes I do !” Granny Smith said, “Thank you everypony, you did so much for me and AJ, I want you to have this!” Granny Smith said as she gave Applejack, her scarf, “You want me to have this?” Applejack said, “Yes it’s finally time for you to run the farm now… and…and I love you all…my journey…has….completed….!
 
The heart monitor stops and the apples, the mane 6, Spike, and Discord were shocked as Doctor Horse checked her heart and said, “I’m sorry, she has completed her journey of the circle of life!” he said as Apple Bloom cried as Big Mac hold his little sister’s arms as Sugar Belle hold her husband’s solder, and Burnt Oak took off his hat and the mane 4’s tears ran down their faces and Spike’s tears too and Discord is sad too, Grand Pear’s ran down his face too, Applejack walk up to his Grandmother and said, “Goodbye Granny!” she said with a tear ran down her face and walked over to the door, Twilight watched her cry and walked up to her, “I’m so sorry Applejack!” Twilight said and hugged her, “Thank..you Twilight!” Applejack sobbed with a hug from Twilight.
 
On days later, all of ponyville were at Granny Smith’s funeral as Burnt Oak speaks, “Everypony, we are gathered here today to wish a goodbye to Granny Smith Apple, she was a good apple and we will miss her entirely, she was a friend and family to us, we love her alot, we will miss her in the future!” Burnt Oak said as he wiped a tear from his eyes as Applejack came to speak, “Granny Smith was my grandmother, she sow, bake, and tell stories, we will miss her, she is like family, and we will miss her alot in the future!” Applejack said as she wipe a tear from her eyes as everyone look at her grave as three ghost look at them (Bright Mack, Buttercup, and Granny Smith) after the funeral, Applejack look at her grandmother’s grave (GRANNY SMITH APPLE,  
BELOVED GRANDMOTHER AND PILLAR OF PONYVILLE) Twilight came and sat with her, “Hope she have a good life in the clouds?” Twilight said, “Yay, she is funny all the time!” Applejack said, “Yay it’s the future and we in it and it’s bright!” Twilight said as she hugged Applejack as the sunsets to finish the episode.

YOU CAN’T DO THAT TO ME

I only have my grandma left. My grandpa died of a stroke while living in a retirement home.

I’m going to cry WUUAAAAA………………..

I was fortunate to have all four of my grandparents and three great grandparents survive into my lifetime, but that also means I’ve been in this situation multiple times. It never gets any easier. In fact, it’s harder to lose them as an adult.

Granny Smith : Here you go Applejack, the scarf is now yours. If you miss me just look at it, I always be there.

Knowing it was the best to visit grandparents when one day they won’t see them again when they know they won’t want to die in a hospital setting and be kept alive by machines when they want to die at home when those wonder if they hear about medical assisted suicide and present a case to die at home when it was to be reports those are urging doctors to make house calls.

I never even got to meet most of my grandparents, and the last one, died when I was a kid, whom I hardly knew
 
Kinda envious of others with grandparents.

I still have both of my grandmas and one grandfather. My other grandpa died shortly before Christmas. He was 90, had trouble to walk and was almost deaf, and most of his friends already past away, too. It was rather sudden and also quick, he never wanted to die in a hospital and be kept alive with machines. In the end, it was probably the best way he could go.  
I don’t know if I could be so strong again if this happens to my other grandparents.

One last goodbye and one last gift from granny.

I’m glad I could say a final “I love you” to my grandma, it’s a rare thing. Unforgettable though. This picture is powerful. Proof that the small moments matter most
