I would say it makes it more unfocused, they just wanted to introduce as many toys as possible without trying to develop any of the characters. The only one that was mildly interesting was Minty.
I was talking ANY group. I know that G3 had no main caat. That’s kind of makes G3 more unique.

Before the core 7 G3 didn’t even have a set of main characters, so no matter who they were going to throw a party for, it woudln’t have been one of the main ponies. It just kept introducing more and more characters, without really focusing on many of them. Kimono didn’t even appear in any of the future episodes.
