Besides being adorable, she’s the mane pony whom I can relate to the most. Anxious, nervous, not great at socializing, a tendency to act on impulse while being a habitual worrier and overthinker, and gets along the best with other social outcasts.

Besides being a total cutie, and an adorable laugh & sense of humor, I love that she’s the only b!tch on the show crazy enough to wrangle Trixie.
And I say “bitch” lovingly. We ALL know at least one crazy bitch/bastard that we still like, don’t we?

There are much better ponies than Starlight. I like her, she’s an amazing villain who reformed while still retaining some of her bad qualities and made some stupid choices, but she’s far from my favorite.

I like her because I met her during a particular time of my life when I first realised I’m absolutely garbage at making and keeping friends. Her character and story taught me that you can be a huge fck-up and still be a good person. To a degree, of course—I recognise that she is living in an idealised world that cannot quite map one-to-one with our horrid reality.
She prevented me from thinking I’m purely an irredeemable person all the time, and that’s quite a bit of mental help. Few years later tho I learnt of Monika and her hell in DDLC, and my life has been spiralling ever downwards ever since. But I still really like Glimmy.
