My personal pet peeve is when the term “plot” is used by ponies in fanfics (well, except for comedy fics). “Plot” is fine as a fandom term, but it makes no sense for the ponies themselves to use it. They should say “flank”! >_<
@Background Pony
Lol I have an opinion too, so I don’t get your point? I have NO problem with people enthusiastic about knowing things. Lord knows we could use more of that in the world. The tone and wording of that post suggested he/she was upset with people using nick names instead of proper names. Now it’s not that big of a deal, but I figured I chime in with a little mild snark.
@rogerSnow
God forbid people would know horse anatomy and know what they’re actually called. Hoofy-kicks can be a cute nick name, but it’s called rearing. How dare people actually know about horses and their anatomy and not use memes?
Yeesh, kid, he just stating an opinion. No need to get all flustered over it.
@Background Pony
What the show calls the “flank” is more correctly the hip. Though the flank can technically include the hip, so it’s not totally inaccurate. Let’s not quibble over it and just admit the writers sacrificed scientific accuracy for a good rhyme, as any good writer would.
What fans call the “plot” is simply the haunch or rump (not labelled on the actual diagram)
There is no such thing as “crotchboobs”, thank god. (all mammals have teats)
@LanceOmikron
The flank is the entire side of the horse (almost akin to a hip in some definitions), and the rump are the cheeks on the backside of the horse. So, “blank flank” is like saying “blank hip”, but without the rhyme.
@Background Pony
In fairness, the show itself is responsible for that by using the term “blank flank”, when the cutie mark is clearly on the rump area.
What makes me a disappointed panda is all the people who call teats “crotchboobs”, who call rearing “hoofy-kicks”, who call the rump “plot”, and all the other stuff they come up with.
The correct term would be “curple”

So whatsa problem?
Oh, you wound me, sir. I shall retreat to my basement at your superior visage.
>The problem comes with having a problem with nick names.
“I have problems with different opinions. MEMES OR NOTHING.”
I have no problem with someone knowing horse anatomy. The problem comes with having a problem with nick names.
“Yeesh, kid, he just stating an opinion. No need to get all flustered over it.”
Right back at ya, “kid”.
I’m a little confused, but I don’t care, because I’m reeling in bliss after having been blitzed by that adorableness. ^_ ^
I meant to say “What, you mean this face? Nah.”
What, did face?
Flustered, you say? You don’t sound any less flustered than he did…
Actually, you sound much more flustered. >_>

Wow. Captain buzzkill. God forbid mlp fans should come up with cutesy names like hoofie kicks.

Huh, interesting…

Ah well. What’s done is done.
Yeah, all that too.
