_She stood outside the door, worried more about how her sister would see her than anything else. She looked at her front left leg. Why? How could I be so stupid? she thought. She steeled herself. She would go in. She raised her good hoof. “You don’t need to knock, Sweetie. You’re always welcome.” She froze. She hadn’t expected a response before she knocked. She decided to open the door and peek inside. “Hello?” “Over here, Sweetie.” She took one look at her sister, and her heart immediately sank.
 
Compared to her sister, she was lucky all she had was a brace. Her sister’s leg was completely gone, replaced with what seemed to be pure metal. “Sweetie, what’s wrong?” She looked Rarity in the eyes, and suddenly felt much worse. Her horn was fractured to the point that it needed a special brace, and her eye was purely mechanical. “Don’t worry, Sweetie. I’m happy to see you’re alright. Well, comparatively.” “Rarity. I.. I’m so… so… sorry!” She ran and wrapped her sister in a tight embrace. Rarity returned the hug. “It’s alright. You were the first thing on my mind. You always are. Besides, I’m still beautiful, just… in a different way.”

Question: Why is she a cyborg anyway?

She’s a seamstress, so it’s the natural solution that she’d be the one put in this situation. She’d be the best-suited for finding a way to make this condition work.
