That’s not true, it was basically a big cameo if Optimus Prime(along with Optimus Prime of GG.I. Joe) in an initial version of the G1 MLP movie, not an actual crossover.
There’s a Wikipedia page showing that G1 was meant to have a crossover with them. I bet if that wasn’t cancelled MLP wouldn’t be hardwired into most people as a “little girl’s show”. Shame it never got to be.
Ugh, don’t remind me… I’m STILL pissed that that show had a nine-month hiatus in between its second and third season, only to find out that the show had pretty much ALREADY BEEN CANCELLED by the time the third season aired.
And you know the WORST part? The Transformers Animated “Allspark Almanac II” book reveals what the season 4 episodes would’ve been, and they sound really freaking awesome.
Dammit, IDW… can’t you give us “Season 4 Comics” in the same vein as the “Buffy Season 8 & Season 9 Comics” or “Angel Season 6 Comics” (I know those aren’t IDW, but you get what I mean, right? Continuing the story in comic form)?
It would be cool if it was a crossover with Beast Wars at least. But even that is highly unlikely to happen, if not impossible.
I also agree with Background Pony #E426 in regards to TF Prime, aside from it sucking. I didn’t think it sucked, it just wasn’t anywhere near as good as it should have been. Had it capitalized on all of the wasted potential, my views would have been much softer. I liked Wheeljack, most of the villains and the kids at least though {And Ratchet too, when he wasn’t being Mr. Exposition}.
One idea I have is that the war of Cybertron comes to equestria, and the ponies fight along side Optimus prime and the Autobots against Megatron and the Descptercons

And as a big fan of G1(got the whole thing, the Matrix Of Leadership Edition) I call bull of it being better the Prime.
Apparently, Hasbro’s response to the scenes in question (which included Shipwreck being drunk or at least implied to be) was this: “Very funny. No.”

Any kid’s show that takes itself that seriously can very easily jump the shark, as Prime did in it’s 3rd season.
True, but just because it took itself seriously doesn’t mean it sucked.
Prime took itself way too seriously. It doesn’t fit with MLP in a crossover.
