All of his abilities are grenade-based versions of other frames’ abilities. Orchestra put it best:

The abnormally large rubedo core built into the Mag Warframe, and it’s mass-altering properties, were enough to give rise to the Vortex. Vauban is a collective work. He is the sum total of Tenno in harmony. He is their order in microcosm, a thousand minute gears all meshing together to form one perfect system.

Makes sense. Vauban copies the other frames’ abilities, Twilight learns many of her spells from others.
