Makes about as much as sense as randomly shipping characters of the same sex together, even though there’s no context given for how or why they would be together, other than for homosexuality’s sake. You can’t know for sure if it’s done for a particular preference or done for the sake of it, because you don’t know what goes on inside the artists mind. And FYI, I know the artist to a personal degree, and I ensure you that most of her work that does feature R63 and straight-shipping is based on context of the source that sparked up much of the R63 side of the fandom; hardly done for the sake of heterosexuality.

@Rahkshi500
I’m not bashing rule 63; I personally am a big fan! It’s when they do it just so that the ship becomes straight that it bugs me. If you look at this artist’s gallery, they have a number of ship pics that would be homosexual, but one of the characters has been genderbent for convenience. In the same ship either character might be bent, which shows that it’s not bending for a particular preference; rather it is for heterosexuality’s sake.

I still don’t understand why some people find it necessary to change one of the character’s genders just so that it becomes a hetero ship… don’t they know that Lesbians are Magic?
