Overlap x1 is where G3 and G3.5 intersect: G3.5 characters are presented to us in G3 artstyle.
Overlap x2 is where they intersect even further - G3.5 characters suddenly have flashbacks to the events of G3, which is bizarre because non-unicorn Cheerilee sees unicorn Cheerilee.

Starcatcher and Rarity are separated because they never appear together, and the drawing style changed quite a lot with the Promenade.

Hmm, maybe you mean stages ‘Star Catcher is mysterious Wish-Granter’, ‘Star Catcher is not quite mysterious, but still from reclusive species from remote island’, ‘Star Catcher is frequent Ponyville visitor’. I dunno, sounds more like character development than retcon.

Eh, I usually just separate it with “G3”, “G3 Core 7”, “G3.5 Twinkle Wish Adventure”, “G3.75 Newborn Cuties”.

I don’t understand what separates ‘starcatcher ed’ from ‘rarity ed’, or ‘overlapx2’ from ‘overlap’.
