Who knows? Though, as I said some Sonic-related pics have managed to break the “Sonic curse” of Derpibooru. This pic still has more upvotes then downvotes, so it looks like it kinda did to.
That’s true, like I said I’m sure at least in part is is due to Sonic hate. Even if the picture was much better drawn, it probably would have gotten downvotes from people who will downvote anything with crossover Sonic characters. I’m sure it would’ve been worse if it was say, shipping Sonic and Fluttershy :P
Well, I see other “pointless crossovers” that barely get any downvotes, or any drama. Plus it’s usually the Sonic pics where the people come out of the woodwork just to complain/bash them, or complain about the Sonic series in general. (Something about Sonic just brings out the drama/hate in people. I never seen any other video game character quite as “controversial” as Sonic. It’s either “love him, or hate him,” and never anything in-between.)
On one pic I remember some even said things like, “Why don’t these Sonic fans just get out of the brony fanbase?” (Plus it doesn’t reflect well on bronies to bash other fanbases, when they at the same time demand respect for what they like… Plus it’s like the “pot calling the kettle black,” sense liking Sonic is no less “childish/nerdy” then liking ponies, and both fanbases are quite prone to drama, and controversies within them.)
But to be fair this still has more upvotes then downvotes, at least. So some Sonic-related pics have managed to get by the “Sonic curse” on Derpibooru.
Not saying everyone on here hates Sonic, there’s quite a few Sonic fans in the brony fandom actually. I’m not as big a Sonic-fan as I used to be, but I still like the blue-blur.
Yeah but “it could be worse” doesn’t exactly warrant a ton of upvotes, on top of the fact plenty of people will downvote based on the (pointless) crossover. It’s not necessarily hate for the Sonic fandom, though I’m sure it’s part of it.
While I admit it’s not the best drawn pic, (and it’s odd to see Sonic hanging around a pony he has nothing in common with) it’s still not bad, and cute. I’ve seen worse crossover pony pics then this.
Just be glad they aren’t making-out. :P

Well, to be fair, it has the same amount of upvotes as downvotes. (So far, 13 & 13) That’s more then some Sonic pics get. I do agree this is actually kinda cute compared to some “copy & paste” Sonic pics we usually get, and at least there aren’t any typical hater/Sonic-drama remarks in the comments section. (Yet.)
But yeah, while I admit not every Sonic game is “gold,” I don’t get all the “drama” over just seeing him online brings.
Some just love to hate Sonic. Especially, this guy… :P
