I’ve seen some photos of the boss 429 with spark plugs along the center of the valve covers. I had always thought those motors had hemispherical combustion chambers, but I based that assumption on the 426 Hemi because it had a similar layout.  
So that cammer was based off the older FE blocks. I had no idea! I’ve only played with clevelands, windsors and some of the newer modular V8s. I like talking cars with someone who can lay some knowlege on me!

Yep, Cleveland (big block) heads on a Windsor (small block) is what made those things Boss.
 
But the engine I was thinking of is the 427 Cammer. It was an FE-series 427 side-oiler big block like they ran at Le Mans and in NASCAR, but with hemispherical combustion chambers and a single overhead cam. The drive chain for the camshafts was 6 feet long.
 
NASCAR and NHRA rules back then required that any engine used in a ‘stock’ class must be available in the car being raced…so the Cammer was offered as an option (the kind you can’t actually get unless you have serious connections). NASCAR said hell no to it. It won a single race before being banned. The engine had much greater success in NHRA drag racing.  
I doubt it was even considered for Le Mans use (in the GT40’s) because nobody could build a gearbox that could last 24 hours under that much strain. Right out of the box the Cammers were rumored to have over 700 horsepower.

BOSS 302
Correct time period but no…the Boss 302 used big-block heads (with canted valves) on a small-block engine but the combustion chambers were regular shape.

You can get the 300, 302 and 351w in the half tons and broncos, but it’s Big Mac we’re talking about, so he’s gotta be driving a 3/4 or 1 ton with a powerstroke or a 460 big block (I have the big block in mine.) The HD F250 and F350 were made in its older body style up to 1997. My F250 was made in october of ’97

that’s a 1996 Ford F150, probably has 4.9L I6 engine. full  
The cylinder head valves located on 11:00 and 1:00 (the top half of the head chamber), while the hemi valves divides the cylinder chamber in to equal halves, like 12:00 and 6:00 or 9:00 and 3:00
