Oh, I know…and I think I misread that, actually, as saying that mythology shouldn’t be used in cartoons at all. My mistake.
That’s still not a reason for people like Wyvrex here to start complaining about tiny things that aren’t even that big of a problem in the first place.
It’s not so much about being faithful to mythology as using it for inspiration.
Even the show doesn’t always get its mythology right, so we shouldn’t complain about fanart getting it wrong.
You mean like…griffons and arimaspi?
And still, almost no one cares! What’s the point of keeping them seperate when people mix them up anyway?
You’re using real-life mythology in a fanbase about cartoon horses. You shouldn’t be doing that in the first place.

Because the fandom doesn’t care if the two are seperate! You’re seriously the only person who cares about it! MLP Fan-created Kirins are always part dragon and thus qualify as Draconies, which is why the Dracony tag is used for both terms.
Don’t like the way the tags work here? Go find another place where they do care about it.
