@softland
This picture is so old that at this point Twilight was Twilight Twinkle and she was a completely different shade of purple with a blue mane highlight and moon + star cutie mark.
Is it mardy gras ?
This is the beginning (or not) of the end, Rarity is getting her boutique, Rainbowdash joins the wonderbolts, Fluttershy will have a pet shop or something involving animals,
Applejack… well I don’t know, Pinkie pie is going to…. well I don’t know either and twilight is going to replace Celestia.
It looks seedy in a weird way. No wonder it’s shown surrounded by nothing but wilderness: it’s where all the stallions go to watch the burlesque mares play.
I remember something with one of the creators talking about how they originally designed ‘Carousel Couture’ to be a kind of “merry-go-round” themed place with lots of frilly saddles and such akin to the general look of an amusement part merry-go-round, and how after initial conception of the idea, just about everyone agreed that felt weird and out of place in the world they were building.
Can’t remember where it was exactly, might’ve been a series of tweets or something.
I think it looks like the gazebo from In The Night Garden.
And Celestia was a Queen lol.

The designer for the buildings in that show was actually on FiM early on.
