I had certain friends in the brony community who told me that most fans hated it. How that changed, I have no idea.

Well the first EQG came out around when season 3 ended, and it was a dark time period, since it had Twilight becoming a princess, and peoplesaying that seaosn 3 only had half the episodes as thenother season s becuase the rest of the budget went to the movie (even though the staff said that was not the case). Plus, you know how bronies love to overreact ;p
 
But after a while when the movie came out, the people that liked it still liked it,and most of the people that hated the film realised that they were kind of overreacting to the movie, and then said that they either liked it or thought it was ok.
 
Plus if i remember, most sites (like tumblr EQD and DA) actually resonded positivly to it, along with other bronies who saw it.

Ah, I see. Wait, crap, if things have changed and most people like the new movie, do you think they’ll hate my reviews? Because I think that the movies are utter tripe, especially the first one. (I’m going slightly easier on Rainbow Rocks due to the Dazzlings and their songs being awesome.)
 
And no problem. I remember when I first got my core membership. (Though it was called premium back then.)

The first is blah but Rainbow Rocks comparatively feels like a huge jump up in quality like a vast improvement.
 
And the other two are okay overall.
 
I think one of the pluses for RR is the Dazzlings because every bad guy is “person gone mad from magic overload” and the Dazzlings are at least bad guys that use magic but aren’t ruled by it like everyone else.

And are far less prone to screw ups from stupidity or pride, like most cartoon villains. Those bitches are smart.

Also, the Dazzlings were a breath of fresh air after getting such a crappy villain in the first movie.
 
From what I’ve seen of Friendship Games, it seems to be a complete mess; half of it seemed like it was trying to up the quality like it did in Rainbow Rocks, while the other half just seemed like a poorly-done rehash of the first one. And I haven’t seen Legend of Everfree yet.

Yeah Sunset was not a very good villain but as a redemption story works much better and in Friendship Games case I don’t really see it as a re-hash (per se) more a coming full circle.
 
But spoiler warning for Camp Everfree: magic drives someone crazy.
 
I’d say the problem people had EQGs is this franchise is called My Little Pony and now the characters are humans? That’d be like if Transformers didn’t trans–

Why are you so worried about people disliking your reviews? Also, I sure most bronies now would not really care if someone likes or dislikes the film. Your fine as long as you don’t act like a dick to people liking the films.

Because from what I’ve heard, there are groups that target anyone who dislikes those movies. Such as this one. And quite frankly, I spent 1-2 years pretending I hated MLP and had not one, but two troll accounts pretending to be me opened up by angry bronies. So yeah, I’d rather not have that happen again.

Long story. I legit did hate MLP at first, but then for a while, I just pretended to hate it while secretly watching episodes at the same time because I didn’t want people to judge me.

As of today, I’ve been part of the MLP fandom for three years.  
Man, how time flies… it’s crazy.

Welp I have great news, good news, and meh news…..  
The Great news is I am now at Ball State University!  
The Good news is that I have my vaccination records that I needed for preventing a hold on my education, AND I just bought my books for my classes…..  
The meh news is now I am $2000 in credit card debt because my refund is coming in check form and I wouldn’t have gotten it in time to get my books…..though I should specify that the books only account for 1/5th of that debt…..
