Why is it that so many American suburban women believe in all of that New Age crap like the healing power of dolphins and crystals and all that shit?

Hey look. It's me.

I couldn’t tell you.
I do know that the emerge of non-medicinal cures for things has been a wonder to Americans since the dawn of the country. I think the idea of having a cure for something that doesn’t involve medicine fascinates people.

I think what Selaphiel is saying is that you could use this as an opportunity to start your own band or rock radio station in a town that has neither. Hint hint!

I suspect a bit of this is due to big pharma and various other medical industries doing some awful shit and/or being generally corrupt.

These days it feels like many just simply jumped from one religion to another.
They did not embrace science.
For example. You should see those Feminists who are resorting to witchcraft and magic to oppose Trump.

Nothing’s more pathetic than comparing yourself to trash like him.
You don’t have to do that.

I am pathetic. I’m as fucking naive as Chris Chan.

Having a diagnosis means that you can modify your behavior and adjust your expectations so that you have a better chance of being happy, regardless of the diagnosis.
If you had a cancer diagnosis, for example, would that mean that it would be ok to put yourself down? Sure - you’ve got a right to do that. That’s one way of looking at that diagnosis. But it’s not going to help you live your life and find happiness and live with cancer.
People with autism are not forced or required to publicly put yourself down. Many people with autism are able to put themselves down privately, and then they can be happy IRL.
You’ve chosen that putting yourself down publicly is going to be your approach to life. It doesn’t have many beneficial or happy outcomes.
It’s called “self harm via social media” - a method of coping that uses sites like this one, and the community here, to “cut” yourself over and over.
There’s never ever going to be a point where that kind of self harm will “fix” you. It’s just a bottomless well that you’ll never reach the end of.
I’m not saying you have to stop doing it. But I do think you should be very careful to remember that it is never ever going to result in any better outcomes, and I think you should stop blaming your diagnosis for your behavior.

Oh god. Do you have to mention cancer like that? Because if he ever says that he has cancer, my panic attacks are gonna go haywire. Because I’m afraid of losing a friend like him. 😢
