So, I may’ve failed to realize that the deadline for flying OC applications was thanksgiving… oops…

Can I draw my friends character hugging/snugging my own in a “photo pose” looking at the camera.. and would that require another width? Or should I try to squeeze both characters in that space?

You should be fine drawing a friend and your OC together. As for the ‘width’ so long as it doesn’t obstruct too much then itll be fine. Check the first post by Joey and look over the guide lines / examples shown for 2 character together.

Bigger is better. You should not try and squeeze everything into a small space…

If your doing your drawings, try to make the actual image 4 to 10 times larger than your planned submission. That way when you export your image to PNG or SVG, it’ll look much sharper and cleaner, as well as allowing you to resize when needed.

This was my submission for last years collab, and the actual image size was 15000 x 18000 pxl, but when exporting it to its current PNG file state, I reduced the image size to what it is currently.
 
Like Lightening said, bigger is better, but within reason (like a 5000pxl height image).

If you make SVGs in the first place, size isn’t an issue, just upload the SVG itself.
 
I don’t make raster art.

How many ponies are you talking about?

I would love to draw my oc for the collab, but I feel like the MyDoodle app I use on my iPad for digital art defaults to inadequate quality. I am not sure if I should try to put a sharpness effect to attempt to make it look better, or make a traditional art piece without a background.

Autodesk Sketchbook for the iPad is free and works rather well.

Damn, that’s a lot… Maybe try keeping it around three rows of 6-7 or so. Definitely don’t do a single horizontal line.
