A noticeable interesting trend with the “derpybuse” tag is, almost all of the serious ones since at least one year are commissions for an anonymous somebody. And several artists are being commissionned, it’s not only the recent derpy growing-up story, for example… Someone out there is really hating on her, it seems ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°

I’m starting to wonder if there should be some tags for some of the specific common yet non-universal details in 3D art. Sticker-eyes, inconsistent catchlights (catchlights on sides with no light sources), zero/low volume clothes (excluding body stockings and gossamer swimsuits and bodypaint and other things that actually do cling closely and barely have substance), plastic-smooth shiny texture of supposedly live bodies. Some already exist, the one where an anthro is basically a chimera of a normal human body plus a show-accurate pony head (well, technically exists, but it’s a start), and one for a specific free-to-use EQG body model.

Along with tags for extreme body parts and some themes, this might actually encourage me to stop filtering all of 3D. I’m sure there’s plenty of great 3D out there, it just is a pain plus the whole uncanny valley issue to try and find it.

Are much more pleasant to see than most of the images you’re complaining about, and I agree with your complaints.

“Ponified smiley face sticker over a recolored human body” is how I called it.

That, and big-booba futa, are why I had all anthro hidden for the longest time. Now, most anthro is behind a simple spoiler for me (there’s a lot more terrible anthro art than show style, especially if you’re looking for fetish art, for whatever reason) and only something like anthro && 3d && (big boobs || futa) is hidden.

There is, but it’s not easily discoverable via tags.

Based on statistics, anthro seems to be primarily NSFW as a way to skirt around bestiality laws.

No, it’s more like people don’t want to lewd ponies, so they make them anthro. I thought that’s what I was getting at, but I guess not.

I filtered it out a while ago (the artist at least) but mermaids.

Yeah I blocked any of the Kaa stuff out a while ago, but some still slip in. I like hypnosis and mind-control fetish art, but Kaa is overused in them so much that I just blocked the Kaa tag finally since it’s not creative at all.
