One of the most dangerous amusement parks in the world was Action Park, located in Vernon, New Jersey. Nicknamed “Accident Park” or “Class Action Park” since its opening in 1978, the amusement/water park has seen its share of unfortunate accidents and fatalities due to lax safety standards, poorly maintained rides, undertrained and underaged employees and free access to alcohol leading to substance abuse. After 6 deaths, 3 of them from the park’s tidal wave pool, the park became defunct in 1996 and permanently closed.
