A Shirley Temple with moonshine is Shirley’s Redneck Cousin.

Bloody Mary tastes more like I’m sucking on a bottle of spicy marinade.

My favorite bloody mary mix is also used as a chili seasoning. It is called Rusty Anchor. Very spicy and savory. Needs plenty of lime to offset it

A couple slices of lime is the usual garnish for a gin and tonic. However, I picked up some lemon tonic and naturally I thought lemon slices would be good with it. I was right. This is very refreshing. It’s a little bit of summer in a glass when the weather is wintry outside.
 
Malfy gin is quite good. I think next I should try their Con Limone distilled with lemon peels.

Gin is very good with citrus. Last time I had one I did a mix of lemon and lime juice along with tonic. Sounds good to use real lemon and lime to give more complex flavor. But a little goes a long way

Blue Moon is also good with a citrus fruit. I had one at the Dave and Buster’s in Salt Lake City the other day.

Bottled lime and lemon juices are fine in a pinch, though I always use fresh citrus when I can.

I had Blue Moon once. Never again. I can’t stand coriander in beer.
 
For summertime, Bell’s brews an excellent wheat beer called Oberon that would likely be good with a slice of orange. You should try it sometime if it’s available in Utah.

Well I likey the blue moon. However, wheat ale without the citrus and/or coriander additives is pretty good too IMO.

I just had a Coors Banquet. Much better than their “non-alcoholic” stuff I had the other day…and better than Budweiser, IMO. I also dig these little snubby bottles of theirs.  

Is it true that men generally have higher alcohol tolerance than women?

Think it has something to do with men’s lower water content.

I just had a Guinness. Besides the bitter aftertaste, pretty decent stout. And much smoother than a regional stout I had a few years ago.

It’s a good thing I tried a Sazerac before buying Herbsaint (absinthe) because I don’t like the licorice taste.
 
What I did very much enjoy were two cocktails with St. Germain: a Le Grand Fizz and Hendrick’s Orleans. The former is vodka based and the latter gin. Both were excellent with seafood.

Why do I keep buying alcohol even though I hate the stuff? I bought a can of white rum and threw it away after a sip.

Guinness is weird. I like drinking it but the moment I stop, it tastes like licking an ashtray.

Exactly my experience.

Guinness tastes like cold weak coffee and has almost no carbonation.

It’s pretty flat yeah. All UK beer I’ve tried so far is.

I thought Guinness was Irish, not UKish. Heck, even the bottle says “brewed in Dublin.”

Rum needs pineapple and grenadine. Make a Malibu cocktail. Malibu has coconut liqueur and rum…. a great thing to mix

I’m honestly not sure. I only ever drank it when I went to London.

Heineken’s pretty good. I was told it was sweet.
 
Don’t think it was, but it’s easily something i could drink more of.
