Why LGBT Related Featured images Attract So Much Drama

In light of recent events a forum being made about this topic needed to happen since this has been bringing a lot of drama and unnecessary hate

Feature a lesbo image - ok.  
Feature a gay image - drama.
 
Most of the people on the internet and straight males

There is also a thread in Site & Policy which may be a little more site & policy focused. But this thread is fine because this seems like a big enough subject that more than one thread would help people work out their thoughts.

Before anything. I have nothing against the LGBT community and if I make an offensive/controversial comment I apologize for doing so.
 
I have nothing against these gay featured images but why not lock the comments straight off when the drama starts to raise and give a warn to those who starts them? Pretty clear most of the people who use this site are straight and they are not ok with this kind of art. So it’s pretty easy to know when the drama is going to happen.

It’s the G and the T, people don’t really care about L and B besides the usual BS like “that’s my waifu” and “Starlight Glimmer deserves only death, not love”.  
4channers see an opportunity to troll, and a few straight guys see something like that, imagine such a kiss or whatever happening to them, and get disgusted.

See, that’s what always confuses me. I don’t always preface comments on lesbian images as “I’m not gay, but I like Twidash.” I mean maybe it’s one of those guys versus girls things in general, but you don’t have to be something to enjoy it, nor does your liking of it need to equate to sexuality or a sexual interest in said thing. Especially if it’s just a safe kiss or cuddle, nothing sexual there, nothing to threaten your sexuality, one in which, if you were confident about in the first place, would not be challenged by kissing stallions.

I think at least part of the reason is that there is a segment of people that seem to honestly think that anything LGBT related is/should be considered NSFW. These people to me seem to be under the impression that if a kid (or anyone honestly) sees something LGBT related they are going to turn out gay.
 
Then there are the people who think it is pushing some kind of agenda. They seem to me to just want to pretend that the LGBT community doesn’t exist, and those people there is honestly very little to nothing that can be done about them. They want to live in a little bubble where they don’t have to deal with anything that disrupts it.

It’s hypocritical. Plus women don’t usually do that, and in fact I’ve never seen any of them act like that in the opposite direction. Tho I don’t tend to hang around them either. P:
 
My point being, if you’re gonna be so hypocritical, don’t make it so obvious and then we can’t make fun of you.
