Grenade Launchers are are one thing. The grenades are a different story. Usually the most you’ll get are smoke grenades, flash, flare, etc. But not HE.

Eh, I don’t know if I’d go that far. I live in very gun friendly state, and where I am most shops mainly just have pistols, shotguns, and hunting rifles, with a sprinkling of AR-15 types, plus whatever miscellaneous types of other rifles they might have have. Now, there are a few shops out in some the suburbs that have pretty impressive inventories, and those are always fun to go window shop at. Or at least the were until the shelter in place orders.

A common thing I’d see at gun shows (again, back when we could still have gun shows) is guys setting up 37mm flare launchers underbarreled on AR-15 builds, making a semi-reproduction of the M16A2 with M203 grenade launcher combo.

It looked like a transitional weapon.

I once made a bolt canon. Drilled a hole most of the way through a small hex bolt. Made some boom-boom mixture from matches and stuffed it inside the bore in the bolt. I had also made a small hole from the side of the bolt —which connected with the larger bore— through which a small steel punch could impact the sensitive powder and set it off. As ammunition I used small metal fragments that I cut from small steel nails. That thing made quite the noise and was somewhat satisfactoy, crude and small as it was.

I knew already that Japan would make “Moe” humanizations of just about everything, but that they would make one of such an obscure rifle is still surprising.

Girls Frontline is a Chinese made mobile game, and yes it’s anime.  
A lot of the art were drawn by Japanese and Chinese artists commissioned by the devs.

That would be a cool video, but extremely hard to do. I don’t think China allows foreigners access to their arms archives, and the Type 63 only got exported to a handful of third world countries where travel may not be the safest thing, least of all just to do one video. Unless someplace like the Royal Armouries has an example in their collection, I don’t think he’s going to have access to one.

Funnily enough I was listening to a podcast featuring Ivan the Troll and Ctrl Pew where Ivan was talking about electrochemical machine-rifling barrels (that’s how you rifle the barrel of the FGC9, just FYI), and mentioned that the army was looking into using ECM rifling for Gatling gun barrels, because then the barrels could be made out of much stronger materials.
 
They shelved it when they worked out for the cost of one ECM rifled barrel they could more easily and cheaply get two.

Just let me purchase a minigun regardless of a fancy barrel cluster or not and I’ll be happy.

I believe you can…as long as you pay what it costs for a house due to the feeding mechanism being complex as all getup. According to Xaniken on Twitter, some mad lad on /k/ is trying to assemble their own minigun.
