on that note, i miss the pokeathlon, it made getting evolution stones easy and fun

Speaking of stones…. Wasn’t it revealed, in a Sinnoh episode, that Ash still had his Thunderstone? At the end of the episode, Team Rocket managed grab the stone, I wonder if they still have it? They must be plotting something.

You know what I gave up watching the Anime. What episode did Ash get his thunderstone at? And what episode are we at? How long is it going to take Ash to be the very best.

He got the Thunderstone from Nurse Joy in the Vermilion City Gym battle episode, which was all the way back in early season 1.

You mean when you get to Whitney? Oh yeah, that was troublesome. Most of the Pokemon available during that phase of the game don’t fair well against her Miltank. Chuck’s Poliwrath’s Dynamic Punch is also pretty annoying.

The trick to Whitney: Use get rid of Clefairy first. Spam Growl and possibly Charm to eliminate Miltank’s attack, Togepi especially when evolved can tank Miltank with Charm and Wish alone. Geodude can take a lot of NVE abuse too.

I wonder how Pokemon battles would work in warfare. What would Pokemon be like in major world conflicts such as WWII, Vietnam, and Afghanistan?

Electrodes. hundreds of them. Explosion spam.

Koffings and Weezings. Trench warfare becomes more hellish than ever.

Koffings, Voltorbs, and anything that explodes will be Taliban toys.
 
Germans in WW2, I can imagine them using Houndoom, Staraptor, and Mightyena.  
Maybe a ton of steel types.  
Red Army, Ursaring, Beartic, some ground types.
 
Americans: Braviary and some more I can’t really think of atm.

Braviary would be air combat only against Japan and Germany.  
The one water type that people would normally use would be WALMER.

The Kriegsmarine probably would used Sharpedo. You know how they could fire them out of the U-boats?
 
Imperial Japanese Navy would’ve used something like Gyrados

Is it odd that i keep imagining these Power ranger/Super sentai teams themed after Pokemon Gen 1 and gen 6?

I think the whole genetics theory seems to be holding more water; the double helix in the logo, and both new things revealed (Sylveon and the Mewtwo forme) stem from Pokemon with a genetic theme (Eevee is genetically unstable, allowing for its myriad evolutions, while Mewtwo was, uh, cloned).

Wasn’t Gen 1’s theme also Genetics?

I’m surprised they didn’t make a Pokemon based on Griffin, Manticores, and Cerberus yet.
